Thought I'd post a pretty nice site regarding AI exploration.

ta good find, i like the sound of the neurogame they mention.

there's an interesting link there too about IBM making an electronic brain - it might be interesting to anyone in the cognitive functions thread too:

IBM Virtual Brain

it seems this is the cutting edge experiment at the moment.

Very cool link, Freddy and a very daunting task they have in front of them.

Just an FYI, a Teraflop is 1 trillion FLoating Operaions Per Second or 10 to the 12th power (1,000,000,000,000).

They (IBM) is proposing to link 4 computers together to produce 22.8 Teraflops!! That's moving the mail!!

Will they come close to modelling the human brain? I suppose close is far better than not close. Time will tell. :huh1:

It's pretty amazing isn't it?? That really is the kind of thing that seems like Science Fiction.
I don't know , to me the problem is more about the modelling of the brain than the raw power, but I suppose you need both to achieve what they are trying to do.? They made a comment about the awsome task of modelling brain functions, I think that may well prove to be an understatement.

I will keep a look out for more news from this, I'm adding a thread in the main AI news section..
