Self Aware
« on: October 09, 2016, 06:34:00 pm »
Self Aware. AI = Saming function algorithm.

AGI will need its own internal 3d simulator to become self aware. A simulated AGI avatar would look through others eyes to get their perspective. In the process of predicting others movements. The error in prediction is what is used to define "other". No error is what define "self".

Here if you're that lazy.

Michio Kaku
'Michio Kaku is an American theoretical physicist, futurist, and popularizer of science.

Early life and education
Kaku was born in San Jose, California, to Japanese American parents. His father, born in California and educated in both Japan and the United States, was fluent in Japanese and English. Both his parents were interned in the Tule Lake War Relocation Center during World War II, where they met and where his older brother was born.

While attending Cubberley High School in Palo Alto, Kaku assembled a particle accelerator in his parents' garage for a science fair project. His admitted goal was to generate "a beam of gamma rays powerful enough to create antimatter." At the National Science Fair in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he attracted the attention of physicist Edward Teller, who took Kaku as a protégé, awarding him the Hertz Engineering Scholarship. Kaku graduated summa cum laude from Harvard University in 1968 and was first in his physics class. He attended the Berkeley Radiation Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley, and received a Ph.D. in 1972, and that same year held a lectureship at Princeton University.

Kaku was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He completed his basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, and advanced infantry training at Fort Lewis, Washington. However, the Vietnam War ended before he was deployed as an infantryman.

Academic career
As part of the research program in 1975 and 1977 at the department of physics at The City College of The City University of New York, Kaku worked on research on quantum mechanics.[3][4] He was a Visitor and Member (1973 and 1990) at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton and New York University. He currently holds the Henry Semat Chair and Professorship in theoretical physics at the City College of New York.[5]

Kaku had a role in breaking the SSFL (Santa Susana) story in 1979. The Santa Susana facility run by RocketDyne was responsible for an experimental sodium reactor which had an accident in Simi Valley in the 50s. Kaku was a student involved in breaking the story of the leak of radiation.

Kaku has had more than 70 articles published in physics journals such as Physical Review, covering topics such as superstring theory, supergravity, supersymmetry, and hadronic physics.[6] In 1974, Kaku and Prof. Keiji Kikkawa of Osaka University co-authored the first papers describing string theory in a field form.[7]

Kaku is the author of several textbooks on string theory and quantum field theory.

What does theoretical physicists do?
"Theoretical physicists attempt to understand the laws governing nature. Unlike practical or applied physicists, they don’t conduct experiments or observe nature directly. Instead, they spend much of their time in the lab or classroom, using mathematics to develop and refine physics theories." - work.chron.com

"Theoretical physicists have a fascinating job that combines observation with mathematics in order to create complex formulas that describe the workings of the universe around us. Among the most famous theoretical physicists are Albert Einstein, Sir Isaac Newton and Stephen Hawking. Theoretical physicists often work for universities, corporations or scientific-focused organizations." - oureverydaylife.com

"Theoretical Physicists use Mathematics to describe the various aspects of nature. Theoretical physicists formulate equations that describe physical problems, deal with them analytically and/or numerically and draw conclusions either to support a set of experimental data or give a general construct of how nature behaves that could be later verified experimentally." - Quora

There, from this point, you should able to grasp whether if he is a programmer or build robots.

All hail to Michio Kaku!
Greetings, signature.

Yes, aside from being one of the good guys, he's a dynamic powerhouse of theoretical physics and even able to break things down so a layman can understand him. A lot of his talks can also be found on YouTube and TEDTalks.
In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!

Yes, I watched a very interesting program about various theories about the start of the universe, string theory, expansion, the big bang, parallel universes - you know the stuff. Out of all the people presented on the show, Kaku seemed to have the best way of explaining things, and you could always tell it is a passion for him.

It’s good to see these new comers/ start ups leaning toward the connectome approach and away from symbolic processing, heuristics, etc.

Excellent video… Ah! The opportunities and enthusiasm of youth… I’m not jealous… much!

@keghn What theories? Where are your proofs? Maybe you mean hypotheses.

It’s good to see these new comers/ start ups leaning toward the connectome approach and away from symbolic processing, heuristics, etc.

@korrelan Why?
