Site Chatters AIML Hosting
« on: December 09, 2008, 12:00:06 am »
Just like to let everyone know we will be offering AIML chatbot hosting on our servers soon. You will be able to upload and edit your aiml files and have them interface with one of our 3d characters or a flash text based chat. Both will be available through our exclusive online console.

The interface is complete and we are working on the back end now. An announcement will be made when all is complete.

You can have a look at www.cyberalice.com or www.sitechatters.com/cyberalice.htm

Our AI servers boast a 99% uptime. Have a look! Also beta testers needed.

Hi Bob! Can't exactly remember when I fell in love with Jess.

But I fell in love with Jess. Dunno why...  ::)

Hi Freddy, do most people use avatars or txt chats?

Think that really all depends on the person in question.

IMO I would say the more graphically orientated prefer to look at an avatar, where as the more dedicated of the lot are probably not that bothered about it.

Personal taste I guess, but would probably say that if there was a choice, most would prefer to see and interact with 'something' rather than nothing...

Yes, like mav I think it is hard to say,  I would put a small wager on more people prefering some kind of avatar.  Text only chatbots don't cut it for me most of the time except possibly for Alan over on www.a-i.com

Agreed, and the more realistic, the better for a lot of the people I know and have spoken with.

I think although some people might be cautious of the "uncanny valley" phenomena, most would
like to at least experience it firsthand.

I'd rather talk with a text bot than a cartoon face that makes no connection or that is not realistic.
In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!

I guess we will just have to offer both ;)

Text: http://www.cyberbeta.com/aimljoan/Aimlchat.html

Flash Bot: http://www.cyberbeta.com/aimljoan

Both options will be available in the Bot Console

You could also allow custom HTML pages like Pandorabots does, where you can combine text and avatar.  That would allow people more choice now and in the future.

Are you saying we need to supply actually pages or the codes to allow placing our bots on users pages?

Well on Pandorabots you can actually host the page on which the bot resides - it means people don't have to sort out seperate hosting.

Freddy,

I looked at that at Pandora,, its pretty cheezey with not many options for non html users. Not sure I want to get into writing an decent editor for that.

Do you think that simple html editor works well enough? I could make one of those in about 5 minutes.

Supplying a hosted page with the bots is easy.
