I'm sorry, Art, I thought it was obvious I was joking about perpetuummobile.

Of course, as thermodynamics laws say, there is no perfect energy transmission from one form to another. Some energy always go to friction and that sort of waste energy, so the real perpetuummobile is not possible, as there is always less and less motion energy in the system.

But I was not joking about a little turbine at robot's finger. Or a little helix on the robot's head that takes a wind power and turns it into electricity. The thing is that the most of the energy on the Earth is sourced from the Sun, producing a motion of wind and water (among other stuff). We have the opportunity to turn that kind of energy into a form we find useful. The Sun got its energy from gravitation, making its consisting gas glowing when pressured by the gravitation. But don't ask me where the star gas came from. It is a matter of Big Bang before which even time didn't exist, as they say. Some say that our Universe is merely a black hole inside a bigger Universe, and we know that weird things should happen inside black holes. Maybe there we should look for answers where the gas came from.

But is the whole Universe one big perpetuummobile, maybe in equilibrium with something else out there? And finally, will the Universe die (cool to zero kelvins), or there is an eternal energy motion happening around here?

Heheh this thread's replies....onto Perpetromobiles 0-kelvin cooling are we so soon? Lol.

Well, the photons would still be rip roaring forth with all matter going opposite ways....maybe gravity holds it all tagetha? Planets do... Black holes do... Then they burst... but fear not cus that gravity extends all space and little by little it pullin ya back in even light CANNOT ESCAPE OMG I DID IT THIS IS THE ANSWER

Would a metal cube in space tear apart if no matter/radiation hit it? Would it decay to bits after trillions of trillions of trillions of trillions of omgegian years? Or would all atoms hold together!? Hence we could survive in a huge metal sphere!?

Do you know how astronauts say, "space smells like bacon". I believe they think it's the metal off- gassing  small bits of itself because of lack of air pressure.  Also if there is movement inside the sphere it will probably fatigue the metal. So repairs are probably going to be necessary. Might have to mine asteroids. Or my FAV idea: Hollowing out an asteroid and living inside it!

The first AGI's, depending on the design will probably require MW of power and run on super computers/ clusters/ specialised hardware.  Because they are a valuable asset their 'owners' will not risk outside interference disrupting their operation.  So any planet based power source that relies on being exposed to the surface, wind, solar, etc would not be suitable.  They would probably use nuclear (similar to subs) or geothermal.  The ultimate solution would be to move it into orbit well out of harms way, then of course solar becomes viable. S.I.D

I'm sure the AGI's will have a few ideas to aid their survival.

Natural corrosion in space obviously depends on the material and orbit.

Actually I meant a metal cube void of radiation etc because all has left away in a distant furture i.e. universe cooling/expansion. However a utopia in a metal sphere may corrode from within? Nonetheless we have bigger problem: Expansion won't happen, crunch will!!!!

......oh nooooo, maybe this is what The Big Crunch is! Gravity pulls it all back together!? So it was all together maybe, then exploded out of 2 poles, and with angular momentum and 2 poles of particles the mostly flat universe began to form.

Same for why galaxies are flat, including solar systems, and planets just a tad.

The next question is, will poles keep exploding at the center of the universe as the crunch happens? Or will it be too much? I wonder how close we are to this center of the universe! RUN!

Look at galaxies, has one had to ever completely crunch to explode poles? I think there is always "floaters" that can stay away from the center hehe U & me bro!!!

Hmmm... Seems fitting to call the remnants of humanity... 'floaters' lol.

If you are talking about the the Big Crunch singularity then... I'm afraid unless you exist outside our space time you're gonna get squished like the rest of us.

Hmm if photons can escape the Big Bang mass then why can't black holes or Crunch's photons? Not sure if a photon CAN slow down. May its angle change? Maybe.

I'm hoping for a expansion that allows a habitat to stay together or a crunch that allows floaters and doesn't require all-come-in-at-once.

By the looks of my last comment, light (if does from far far away) takes a long time to reverse direction angle. Hence all no come in at once!

Ok I'm done, no one knows for sure for now.
