Oddly enough, a friend directed me to a site that sort of addressed your question. A lot of folks know of Guile Lindroth of Guile 3D fame and the Denise AI companion.

Guile seems to be responsible for developing the AI for use in the head of an animatronic / humanoid head which will be attached to a Realdoll.

One doesn't have to buy one of those Realdolls as Guile has created an AI that is capable of learning and "bonding" on some level with its user.
