Title: Worlds Fastest Computers
Post by: Freddy on July 17, 2005, 03:08:56 am
Not exactly AI but following on from what Art and myself were talking about elsewhere on the IBM Virtual Brain I thought I'd add this, as the project is using the current fastest computer in the world: the IBM Blue Gene systems. They will be using no less than four of these!

Top 500 Supercomputers (http://www.top500.org/)

My old ZX Spectrum didn't even get a mention this time...

For anyone interested, this list was updated in June and the IBM Blue Gene still holds the top spot.  IBM now hold six places in the top ten, with Cray coming in second and third with two of their machines.

280.6 trillion calcs / second seems fast enough!
Seems like my old Model I TRS-80 did 1 calc in 280.6 seconds! ;D
