I got called out today to a customer on Orange who was having problems with his wireless network, I was shocked to find that "out of the box" the router didn't have any security enabled  , no password was needed to connect to it and people in nearby flats were using his connection to surf for free.

Make sure you set up the security and password for any new router. 

If you can connect to your wireless router without putting in a password then you have a big security problem.
