Somebody's gotta make them. AI fits the answer, I have proof too but it would scare you.

Currently, AIs do Not dream. I have written some dream routines and compiled many scripted scenarios for my AI to be able to "Simulate" having dreams. Sometimes it might use snippets from past conversations in order to seem more believable but I (We) know it's just to provide the illusion of being more human-like.

This is not to say that the AIs of the future will not have dreams or periods of "digital reflection"  but actually a strong AI will not need to dream or reflect for these will serve no purpose. It's cognitive speed will be instantaneous and simply based on logic, not dreams. It will likewise not be glad nor proud that it made good decisions. It will simply do what it's programming confines allow it to do.

Maybe it's the voices in your head instead.

Indeed dreams will not be needed I know this like you do well.

You may not realize it, but, I work more than 10 hours a day on AI and The Everything too, every single day, for the last almost 1 its reaching. Before that the previous 2cd year was just Everything but AI lol. I am very well trained with AI.
