Anyone heard of Evo Labs PSUs ?

Just wondering about the PSU below.  The fact I can't find any reviews or a home page doesn't bode well me thinks.

Evo Labs PSU

Never used them, but its what I would class as a value brand, ya pays ya money ya takes ya choice.

Here’s the full range of them:

http://www.envizage.com/categorylist/power-supplies-gaming/

Its rated at 800 watt, so lets say it can do 600 watt as it’s a value, that would do for your new bits Freddy, it is dual rail and has variable fan speed so specs are ok.

Would I get it, well I have a 600 watt so I would consider it, how does it compare to a branded 600watt on price I wonder?

That’s how I see it. Others may not   ;)

Yeah I am not too keen on it really.  I've been reading that the Corsairs with single rail are a lot more stable than dual rails.  I'm 99% sure I will get the Corsair here (not sure if I posted it already) :

Corsair 850W Modular

Comes with a 7 year warranty, so can't argue with that.  Enough power for me I think too.

If you can afford it Freddy, I couldn’t  :'(

It is nice to have a high wattage PSU and I can’t say it’s a bad idea but me being on a budget, well I guess I would go lower wattage.

If I say:

CPU =                                   150
Graphics =                            190
The rest of the PC =             100

Total =                                  440

Add on 200 to be sure =   640 Watt

ATI say the HD5850 needs a 500 Watt PSU for one card and a 600 Watt for two.

So you could get this PSU and still be over engineered by at least 210watt.

Hmm, thanks, maybe there is a 650W version of this about, I will have a look.  I know what you mean about the price, it is a lot of money but I am thinking I won't need to buy a new PSU for at least five years.  In the past I have upgraded the PSU as I upgrade other components.  In the end I would probably save money by getting one that will last so long and have spare wattage.  It's just the initial outlay...

Oh my God he's back from the dead  :D

But yes that's why I want to go with Corsair...plus they have excellent reviews and positive end-user reactions on sites I have been reading.

Sorry matey, I completely blanked that bit for some reason, then went on to say I would go and look for a 650W without realising you had posted one !  Thanks, you saved me some keystrokes !
