This may make us feel small and trivial, but these unimaginable scales just make us incomparable:

Volcanoes are dangerous, but as long as you are alive to see footage it's OK (for you, at least)...

Great videos. When watching Ultron's, there's no way we are alone in the universe.

It is extremely mind blowing - that thought, squarebear... The chances of such a specific chain of events occurring elsewhere (atmosphere, chemical composition of planet, weather and then the highly improbable processes of going from carbon to organic to living....) are so small it is hard to compare and therefore comprehend. But 'hard' is not 'impossible' - which is just what understanding the size of the universe (and space and so on) is.

Therefore, to draw a conclusion - even if you understand how small the chances are of humanoid life evolving on another, distant planet just think about how big the universe exactly is.

The only analogy I can make is with lottery - the chances of wining something are miniscule, but the universe has bought so many tickets and ordered many more that I cannot even compare. Also, did I mention the universe is the only participant?

Great videos. When watching Ultron's, there's no way we are alone in the universe.

I absolutely agree Steve, but also realize that the chances of any of "them" coming to visit us are slim to none.
Unless that large, spherical, humming craft outside my window last night wasn't a weather balloon after all!! :2funny:

@ Ultron, Nice video and thanks for sharing!
