Amazing pictures, particularly like the archers, one of which ended up as my desktop background.  The second link has some pictures it would be hard to tell from real-life.  I wonder what programs they used to do those.  Good stuff Mar

The Cyberbabe pic was done at least 7 or so years ago by whay I think was 3DS Max.
Some others might have been done with Maya but I believe Max was the predominant
program of choice back then.

I spoke with several well known 3D artists at the time and they all prefered polygonal
based programs instead of NURBS, due to the amount of tweaking and refinement one
can do like increasing poly depth and playing with the vertices, etc.

Seven years ago!  Wow, that's even more amazing.  I wondered about 3DS Max and had forgotten about MAYA. I was going to try the learning editions of those sometime, but programs like that demand a lot of time so I won't be attempting anything just yet.  It took me ages to get to grips with Blender and I am still a novice in that.  Of course the other consideration is cost - they ain't cheap are they...

Still, sometimes it's just nice to be amazed by what other people have done and avoid the furstration I am sure will be involved in learning to do it myself !

I've seen Staalberg's work, that's very clever what he has done.  I think he has been surpased by Image Metrics though who in my humble opinion have made the first really-truly-realistic-can't-tell-the-difference-from-reality footage.
