That is the second version of my original website www.chatbotfriends.com . If you look at the html closely you will see my old charter email on it sherry40@charter.net which is no longer valid. Some one is keeping my old site up for nostalgia or something anyway I tried to buy it off of them and they turned me down even though it was my website.

The updated version with a new looks is listed in the forums here and on the links section. By the way the new does have updated links now.  IT is really hard to edit a website from a hosting provider that you can no longer afford to pay. I had to finally tell them look your still hosting my old site take it down. I did not realize they had finally done that until i looked it up. That is why i put it on a free one I am on disability now and i cant afford to pay for hosting and domain name registration each year.

Secondly, isn't this person who has your website required to release or relinquish your site contents (unless he / she purchased them from you)?

Well when i wrote that i had not yet checked on the second site but i have since then and it is finally gone. However my original site is there with the same worn un-updated code and it was www.chatbotfriends.com . I do not know what I can do about the first one. I tried to buy the domain back and they refused. I then asked them to remove my old content as it was outdated. They also refused and said they archiving it. So with it I hit a brick wall but my email just the sec one newchatbotfriends also has my old email on it and for the most is roughly intact. I am guessing they took it from the wayback machine because the background is missing. I started that website along time ago in 2002 from a children's site i had created on angelfire which is now gone as i removed it. It was not secure enough for the kids.

So for future webmasters don't neglect your site because people think you died and copy in your memory. Use free email accounts. They thought i was lying about it because my charter.net account was a cable company that provided internet service as well as tv and i did not have that account any more  I moved.

Sorry to hear you may be facing some challenges.  I hope you keep yourself as comfortable as possible.  Before we start our discussion, please let me make it clear that I make no recommendations.  Sharing my experiences is only meant for the sake of our discussion. I am not affiliated with the Dot TK Domain Registry, or any free webhosting service. I just like talking about free stuff on the Internet.

My website: http://www.chatbot.tk is an example of a free domain name, free web hosting and even free web design templates which I combined into one package just for the fun of it. My experience has been good. It appears quite possible to make a 100% free website with no advertisements.

I also did another free domain name, free web hosting and even free web design package at http://www.chatbots.tk. Here is another (almost) free chatbot running on http://ruby-chatbot.rhcloud.com  This one is free, except it has to be visited once every 30 days I think, or it gets removed automatically.  So, it is not totally free.

Maybe you can register chatbotfriends.tk or newchatbotfriends.tk for free at the Dot TK Domain Registry?  I don't believe they are taken yet.  Once you have it all setup, you may wind up having that .tk website forever.  Nothing discussed here suggests anything better or worse with the way you may have setup up a website already.  There are plenty of good options on the web.  Here is a forum that is free, but it has advertisements: http://chatbot.altervista.org/forum/  (It is pretty nice though).  The phpBB forum was all ready to go.

Thank you for the thought but I do have a website back up. I don't stay down long lol. I did not know you could do free domain registration though. Usually when you join a web hosting company that is free they usually don't have any place to submit the code showing that you have  new domain name.  I might check out your sources anyway just to see if they have both.
