The most valuable intellectual heritage?
« on: January 24, 2015, 09:30:29 pm »
What would be the single most valuable bit of knowledge we need to pass on to the future generations?

I believe this is an interesting discussion topic! :)

Without reading the story my first reaction to your questions is how not to kill each other.

I would personally say that ignorance is for the weak and fearful.

I've been thinking about this but so far I cannot think of anything on it's own.

Probably something to do with destroying the environment, but I am still thinking.

That every action causes a reaction.
CO2 retains heat. More CO2 in the air = hotter climate.

Thtat's pretty important, maybe in a more positive wording: That it's best to love and respect each other.

I'd include as much of history as possible since history tends to repeat itself. If that's not possible: some basic survival skills, in case it all goes to sh***

Survival skills would be useless as 'instinct' should keep us alive. History might be a good idea, but only if you were to somehow find the truthful facts and not what's is today known as common (public) knowledge of history.
Also I am sure this picture was referring to a single thought / quote.

I was just saying that is what popped into my mind. It does not necessarily mean that i worry about it. But i am the kind of person who reads alot of various things and news happens to be one of them.
As far as scientific knowledge i would have to say medical research but then again i was a respiratory therapist.
So sue me

I think this is a nice one, also could answer the question of how to be happy:
"The best technology is not the one that separates us from nature, yet the technology that helps us better connect with it..."

My thought and advice for them would be to :"Question Everything...Assume Nothing! - Then form your own conclusion".
In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!
