Extending human longevity.
« on: November 18, 2020, 08:05:32 pm »
Here's a process or it could even be called a therapy to extend human life. With that said; how do we control the propensity for people to want to reproduce? This notion is particularly sensitive when it comes to religious beliefs where some mandate that an individual reproduce so their sexual activity is moral.  I can't condone where there is a solution for someone's disease but its consequences are that the human population increases to something unmanageable, so therefore it justifies not giving that individual the treatment because it increases their life span.

Cool discovery about lengthening telomeres, though I think it’s too early to tell if the headline is accurate in the full meaning… But in the case that it is, surely there are better ways to optimize the population than denying people extra lifespans. I’d rather have compensatory policies like having kids after a certain age, and/or a limit on the number. For example, the government proclaiming that the impending threat of deforestation justifies the banning of axes, pretty much justifies the people to ban the current government. It’s obviously not an ideal solution, given the option to plant extra trees and curb chopping enthusiasm as needed.
