I like World_of_Warcraft; the sheer scale of it is mind-boggling. Probably my favorite game of all time is Borderlands_2 and I've spent about 1500 hours playing that over the 8 years since it was released. I've also spent about 500 hours each on Fallout_3 and Civilization_V. I dabble in Starcraft and Starcraft_II but I'm too slow to play games well that depend on speed.

I play Tomb Raider, GTA, Just Cause and  Batman  series. Mostly third person open world games.

sid meier's civilization revolution - the feel of evolving your tribe into a continent sized advanced race is breath-taking, you start off in the stone age and get to the modern age by upgrading and picking paths of evolution. I wish it went past today's tech. It does sorta. But it could have been better with lasers, aliens, cyborgs, nanobots, NANOBOTS!!! This game is great visuals, must watch a playthrough on youtube you wont regret it.

Ninja Gaiden Black. A hard game. A rare game. Evil. Powerful. Dark. Beautiful (litterally says it on the cover, lol). Best game ever. I beat it on the hardest difficulty, not many can.

Command & Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath - crazy graphics, upgrades, realism, music, and cutscenes. Best future warfare game dude. Great multiplayer!!!!! And campaign! DIE FOR KANE! The Nod race is hilarious they follow their leader with half a cyborg brain, and GDI is human military, and Scrin is the alien race. I once beat 3 brutal AIs, ! I rid the 1st by a black hole or something like that then swamped the other, tricky.

Metalix https://www.pointzero.co.jp/metalixtd/index_e.html
Would you believe I got to level 37 of 50? Best game ever and the music is incredible (try the first 4 levels). Make an AI beat it, Korr :) This game, I didn't beat.

Dead Or Alive 4

LEGAND OF ZELDA THE WIND WAKER..............DUDE, YOU GOTTA SEE THIS GAME, ITS LONG AND GREAT

DONKEY KONG 64, DKC1, 2, 3.............BEST GAMES EVER........

Pikmin................a hard and venturing game, so deep,

I own all these too. I'm the boss!!!! I could go on.....I own like over 100

I find Blizzard too greedy. Years ago I thought purchasing WoW could let me play forever, finally I found out that after purchasing the contents, I had to pay for the GAME TIME too, crazily greedy Blizzard  :tickedoff:

I'm a bit of a gamer in my spare time, got 47 games in my Steam account,  I find it's a great form of escapism, it's also nice to see the progress in graphics and the games A.I. Things have moved forward at quite a rate over the years.

Here is a screenshot from a game I'm playing at the moment, Assassin's Creed Syndicate this is taken in The Bank of England.

Pretty impressive graphics for real time rendering.

Yes a good word to describe it  :)

For a bit of fun let's take a look at some of the bots A.I, the game is set in the city of London, there are literally thousands of “people” bots in the city, they are all doing things and can react to the players antics.

Video not made by me.

Enjoyed that. I liked seeing places I recognised. They really payed attention to details. Also Big Ben striking was cool.

I’ve just started playing role playing games.
I got my first D&D starter kit for Christmas and 5 of us now meet once a week to play a dice based game. We’ve just started our own game based on an AI concept actually... Lots of fun,

D&D is a lot of fun, I used to play it too and several other dice based games. It was a highlight of the week for me.

These days I get the same kind of fix from LOTRO - it's got the same kind of feel in group play - most of the people I play with enjoy that the most. When there's no one to play with then you can explore the world and quest of course, so if you are in the mood there's always something to do.

@Infurl, if you think WoW's map is big then you should visit Middle Earth  :D

Here's a video comparing map sizes that was made last year, thought it was interesting.

D&D graphics is kinda old, but LOTRO is still good and huge game world to explore, love it  ::)

That was a very well done presentation and there were some surprises, I'll grant you that. Out of interest, how big is the download for LOTRO now? I just checked and WoW is taking up 60GB on my drive. I would get back into it if I wasn't having so much fun programming here.

Although I haven't played it, I was waiting to see EVE Online but it wasn't there; I was satisfied with the inclusion of No Man's Sky though. In the final analysis, it's not the size of the game world that counts but the Kolmogorov complexity.

Has anyone here ever played Travian?

https://www.travian.com/international (https://www.travian.com/international)

This game does not waste resources on fancy graphics, you just play it in your browser. Though it might not look it at first sight, it is the most intense gaming experience you are ever likely to have. It is played in real-time against thousands of other players and each game lasts a year.

Don't blame me if it ruins your health and destroys your life. You've been warned.  >:D

While I'm sure it's a nice, engaging game, I think a lot of people are actually searching and enjoying the digital, "Uncanny Valley" of realism, even at a cost of resources. Bigger, better, faster, stronger...you know the drill.
