It came to my attention this morning that there is a new Virus Alert out, beginning tonight for a
re-release of the SOBER virus. Not the original, but a new variant of it. So anyone running
Windows should check that their Win-Update has downloaded the new Microsoft Patch to assist
in preventing infection. The virus is being spread through e-mail. I'd hate to see everyones
hard work go Bye-bye or suffer a set-back.

"Microsoft Corp. released software to protect users of the Windows OS from a fresh attack from the "Sober" e-mail worm, timed to begin this week during the 87th anniversary of the
Nazi Party's founding. A variant of the worm,.....,is scheduled to arrive Friday, MS Co. spokesman Erik Denny said in an e-mailed statement.

The threat comes as Microsoft works to shore up another weakness in Windows. The company said Tuesday that a flaw discovered Dec.27th won't be fixed until next week."

XP downloads updates as does my virus scanner immediately when they are released. So I'm sure I have it. A good reminder though.

Im sure many of us are alerted by email from various companies (i myself am alerted by 3 different sites lol) but many many thanks Gamer for taking tthe time to let us all know.
