A.I. Programming of the Future

Must say I completely agree with the opening of the article. A.I. 'programming' (as in, true/strong/general intelligence) will be a lot more like parenting instead of the classical algorithmic programming we are familiar with today.

Made me chuckle a bit as I recall the now rather infamous quote from Bill Gates who, many, many years ago, in the early days of DOS and computing, made quite a comment about computer memory.
############## From a Wikiquote article ################

I've heard someone saying that this sentence was actually said by an IBM engineer. Unfortunately I don't remember where I read it and neither the engineer's name. Do you know something about this?

"640K ought to be enough for anybody" *was* *definitely* said by Bill Gates. He said it at an early microcomputer trade show in Seattle in mid 1981. It is the Microsoft PR machine that has tried over the years to rewrite history and pretend that Gates never made this asinine comment.

Yeah...the moore's law thing kicked in a bit early and just keeps on ticking....
In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!

Just proves that all our estimations regarding A.I. at the moment are bogus. For example, for a while I was thinking that (according to some older versions of my AGI concepts) an averagely priced computer with balanced specifications would be enough to run a real intelligence. At the moment I did not see the point in using supercomputer clusters or deep learning networks, however after several experiments and additional theories (and a revised concept of true AGI) it seems that we will in fact, need a supercomputer capable of many simultaneous processes and quick communication between them (may shared memory - threads), so probably a lot of processor cores or maybe a new processor/motherboard architecture.

So, I guess the only way is to keep experimenting and focusing on the problems in our theory / concept / program instead of the advantages it has. Problems in terms of the lack of human 'processing' and thinking capabilities.
Software and Hardware developer, and everything in between.
