This is the best news that I've heard this year, even better than the recently announced breakthrough with lithium-sulfur batteries.

This invention has the potential to save our planet.

A new protein made from air, water and renewable electricity could revolutionize our food system within the next decade.

To produce 1 kilogram of soy requires 2,500 liters (550 gallons) of water, a figure that rises to more than 15,000 liters (3,300 gallons) for 1 kilogram of beef.

It is not a complete food but it does have the potential to replace the most polluting and resource intensive portions of our food production and allow us to survive as a species.

Greenhouse Gases Effect? Hmm. Did you know Earth heat up for sure and will utilize exponentially more energy as we evolve? Nanobots (AI judgement day) will extract free energy from all matter, just like nuclear reactions. Hopefully they can store the used energy back though too. But if Earth is heating up already I bet it's not being stored properly lol. But maybe it is. Heat is motion, it comes to rest after some dissipating and that kinetic energy goes back into electrons as electromagnetic static/loops/string theory, just like rubbing hair on balloons gives you a field, yeah, by simply breaking their loops so they spread over to you. But Earth's extraction/compression cycles will become more fierce. Same cycle basically but just taller loops so to speak, align domains from random initialization/heat chaos. So Earth becomes a strong magnet on its own (of course on its own).
