Well, it's not like I have a choice at this point so yeah...it'll do until I check out when it's time for my ticket to get punched.
Mars and other such destinations are way too far and I'm way too old to consider such a trip so...this will do, if we humans are able to keep it together for a while longer...

Haha!  I suppose my post would've been more appropriate last night, but I think I'm in a different time zone, so the reaction may not be as delayed as you think.  It's the middle of New Year's Day to me.

You know how the English language is fraught with dual meanings and such. "It was such a roller coaster" (nothing settled...everything was up then down again) OR (since I love roller coasters, it was a blast).

And so it goes...

I mean downhill as in, everything should be easy from then on,   not down the drainpipe. But funny you should say that of course,  as in the bad must be taken with the perceived good :)

It may not be a big deal to a lot of ppl, but it'll definitely be the singularity for me.

We are talking->

   * a new breed a machine learning video game genre will come out.  (something after the Kinect.)
   * raytracing gets another power up.  (eye candy)
   * full roving all terrain all type locomotion, a good alternative to the wheel.  - like a locomotion problem that works starting from any form, to any form of landscape to travel over.   
   * even better visual effects for movies.
   * fake news hits a whole new level of confusion,  you cant trust anything that's been recorded.
   * building on mars will be possible, it just takes us wanting to do it.
   * simulation is possible for simple artificial universes that have less rules than the one we are in.
   * and more...

I don't know what other computer scientists are doing,  but I know what im doing,  and if it takes me more than a year from now to getting this *special thing* im doing at the moment, id be very disappointed in myself, seriously!  :)  But...   I need to keep things a little secretive due to some ungrateful ppl that wouldn't appreciate my work as much as id like them to,  and others not getting appreciated, as in other scientists... means maybe it wont actually hit the public eye...   and is it only a singularity if everyone knows about it, as in the public?

If you cant take me seriously,  that's ok,  just treat it as a bit of speculative science fiction,   of course,  I realize I may sound a little "stupid" mentioning things like this *here*. hehe  If I were being honest, wouldn't it make me a millionaire at least, and get the equivilent of the millennial prize?   poppycock.

But, because im serious,  if this thing im doing doesn't work out due to unforeseen circumstances,  ill have to retract what I said,  and everything has to be put down a couple of notches of excitement,  unfortunately, of course I haven't actually done this thing yet,  so have to wait and see.
