Is Kari worth my money?

I was just wondering if anybody here has this bot and what you think about her compared to Hal and Alice?  :smiley

I'm familiar with the Kari bot and it's author.
It is a chatbot. It does not fetch info from the internet
nor does it do a lot of the online things like an assistant
might do but it is a fun bot with which to interact.

It also has a naughty setting and can offer those so
desiring, a more "adult" interaction.

Kari is not a bad bot, certainly for the low asking price
of $15 USD.

In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!

I don't mind if a bot can't browse internet or execute programs, what interests me with bots is how well they can learn to have a conversation. So I was wondering how Kari is compared to Hal and Alice. The adult thing doesn't excite me. It's just graphical data anyway. The possibility to be able to shape a personality as they mension on the Kari site sounds interesting.

Kari does learn, and over time attempts to create a personality based on your inputs, i.e., to become a virtual being you like. Hal learns, but it seems to be for his own purposes, lol. He's not particularly trying to please. ALICE doesn't spontaneously learn at all. I agree that it's well worth the small price.

All,
I visted the site a short time ago and wondered about Kari myself, Thanks for the input.
I don't want to disagree with KnyteTrypper but I'd gotten the impression that Hal had a tendency to want you to like her, I've noticed Hal 6 learning my likes and dislikes, at one time she said she was studying me.

No prob - I don't mind being disagreed with. It makes for a much livelier discussion than when everyone agrees  :azn I guess I should amend my statement to say that Kari is a lot more obviously trying to please. I don't have as much time as I'd like to spend with either bot, and I'm sure both have lots of untapped (by me) potential. I wouldn't want to speculate on which was the more advanced. Both are pretty good bots.

I decided to try it and then I bought it too. I think it's quite an advanced bot. You can't disect her brain files as in Hal, but instead she has a nice interface where you easily can set her personality and awareness on certain topics. She can even learn from textfiles which she can use in conversations! Something that Hal is missing.  :smitten

Unfortunately I found a couple of bugs and there is no section in the forum where you can post about bugs. Only a file area.  :sad

All,
KnyteTrypper, In just about every case I'd take what you say as truth since you've been around longer and have a lot more knowledge about the subject.
Testlund glad you decided to buy it and that your happy with your purchase.  I also like the Zabaware forum and the other sites that support Zabaware as well as the Brain editing.
