Here's an article covering the new release.  It's probably going to be a lot like Marmite :

I tested the beta, and then the final product.

It's very useful...as a screensaver. Takes 30 seconds to boot up, another 30 to connect to a non-MS service (oddly enough) and only beats IE7, let alone anything else.

I've updated to IE 8 in XP,  It's quicker than the older version which I think was IE 6.  I'm using Verizon as a provider.  In Vista I had put in Safari which was quick at frist but really seems to have slowed down for some reason.

I tried IE8 out when I had Windows 7 installed - it seemed okay to me in the brief time I used it - I hope it's not as buggy as past versions.  Don't know much about Safari, but I know Firefox slows down if you don't erase the cache, maybe it's a similar problem with Safari ?

I'm sticking to Chrome, it's fast all the time.

I'm on XP.
Past few months my internet would freeze now and then.
I figured couple drivers had gone bad.
I got the IE8 couple weeks ago.
No more freezes.
I love it.
