Some times I think i should just covert my website into a download website and charge for it lol. The vast majority of people who visit it are at one of two places on there downloads or opensource. Very few of the other links get  clicked on. The biggest surprise to me is that the contests funding section does not get clicked on more often. I would think more people would be interested in making money off of it. But then again maybe not if most are amature users who just like to play with chatbots.

I am curious to those who have websites and keep track of visitors via cookies what do your visitors look at the most?

Hi Demon

I've found over the years that people only tend to click on things they are interested in or find attractive in some way. If you have a page that you want to get more clicks to then you need to really push the page, sex it up, make it very tempting to click.

As for making money on the web, well, people are very sceptical and need convincing and reassurance.

Another tip would be to have links on other sites that point to the page you really want to push.

It's nice that you are getting visitors, not doing bad there Demon.

My cPanel has stats and also you can keep track somewhat with those ShareThis buttons.

Some of the articles get viewed a lot, I have my own counter for them which I put in when I built the article system.

Link building is a good thing too - for example you could put a link to your site in your signature here. I do that on all sites that have connected material and allow it. It's fine for you to put a link in your sig here as you would be linking to related material.

Sigh. I am not new here (here being the AI community in general). You just are not used to my user name. My website is not new either. My website name is actually older then chatbot.org. I have been kicking around the community since 2002. I was just curious and attempting and failing to be humourous.

Sorry I thought you were just asking a general question about how we work our sites, I wasn't looking down on you - just relating what I do. Apologies that I did not see the joke, text isn't the best way to express ourselves sometimes.
