Neat  ;D  I really like the way you can switch from landscape to portrait view.

Very cool. I wish I could work with touchscreen technology. I may have mentioned it elsewhere, but I'm very interested in the potential for using touchscreen computers as peripheral devices. Especially for desktop computers. Such a peripheral would be much more feature rich and configurable than a standard keyboard.

I could think of so many uses for one.

I hope this isn't a derailment of the thread.

It might have been "touched" on before. :D

Actually, I think they and the technology are pretty cool at first glance however,
imagine using a desktop system with a touchscreen.

After several months you'd either have arms like Popeye or you'd quickly
tire of using it.

Nice but not as practical.

Now the thought controlled computer / pointer are definitely the way to go!
BTW, do we have them yet? ???

Damn, someone did use ARM before Google, they wanted to apply ARM to it's netbook with Chromium OS AFAIK. But it's good for 'em. Almost like free tests. I don't know if it's still in plans but I hope so. >10h on battery? I'm up for it!

About thought controlled computers. As I know there are some medical implementations for fully paralyzed people where you can use your mind to control pointer. Not to mention eye movement controlled systems, which are actually in use for a long time. But for any more specific information try Google coz I don't have any information on that.

Actually my comment on thought controlled humor was meant as a bit of thought provoking levity but you reminded me of how important such devices are for thousands of people with either injuries or conditions that might prevent them from using a computer in the same way as the masses.

There are voice implants, bionic eyes and eays, hands and practically any body part that can be duplicated.

Just imagine what the future holds for us in as little as 20 years. For those of us who are still alive then, we'll no doubt look back and wonder "how we ever got along without [them]." Whatever THEM are.

We now say similar things about the digital camera, cell phones, DVD's, MP3 players, etc. Only the future knows what's in store for us. The lame will take up their crutches and the blind will see.... perhaps....
