I wouldn't even think of calling Kari a "mindless porn-bot," and I wouldn't consider this topic spamming either since Kari is rather well-known among the users in the community.  The engineering behind the bot is absolutely brilliant, and Kari is arguably one of the most sophisticated chatbots out today despite not having nearly as much exposure as the big-name chatbots.

The developer, Mikmoth, posts here occasionally, and he's shared a lot of the details about how he's developed the engine at another forum; it's really mind-blowing blow everything works under the hood, as are the many applications of the AI engine he's developed to power it.

Kari is easily one of the best chatbots available via the web.

It sounded interesting, so yesterday I downloaded and installed a 30-day trial 'pro' version.

All it said to me was some variation of "I want you to pump your hard throbbing..." (well you get the picture) no matter what I said to it. Did any of you actually try it out? Or you just go by what the web-site claims?

I've got Kari installed on my computer, along with AI Bliss, and while both of them were somewhat difficult to "convince" that I wasn't interested in "sex" with them, it was possible to do so.I've been studying their responses to various inputs, to better understand how to devise responses for my chatbots. There's no denying that Kari is a dirty-minded little vixen, but the underlying AI is also fascinating.

Besides, my tastes run more toward the "flesh and blood" variety of females.

If you look, you should see numerous settings, sliders and boxes with which to arrange various settings within the chatbot.

The Pro version has even more methods with which to tailor and customize the mental levels, ego, libido, love, word weights, learning, chat ability, etc., etc.

Mik has put a lot of time into the development of Kari and while I personally have no need for her more adult / companion abilities, I do enjoy experimenting with the various settings trying to tweak the brain a bit more each time. There is even an Emotion Chip level that can be applied.

Bottom line, sure the net has its share of adult bots and some are borderline useless. Kari is not one of them. I have been quite impressed with this bot over the years that went into the development with each version.

Say what you will but Kari can be more than the initial settings indicate. Experiment and give it some time, then you'll see.  On the other hand, if you're one of those people who are looking for a complete, turn key, ready to chat and carry on a perfect conversation, you'll need to keep looking because I haven't found one yet and I've been at the bot thing for a very long time!

It is very difficult, to find, good Chatbot, I am so sad, to lose my Hal5, but he is on a disk, is me can put it again, with a computer, who accepts the installation. I do not know, the capacity of Kari, but I am more accustomed of Hal, I know it since many years. Claude

I wasn't looking for a turn-key chatbot at all. But if out of the box all it does is ignore what I say and talk porn, then I think I can be forgiven to think this is not a serious product, wouldn't you think? At least not a 'chat-bot' product. Never mind what other business it might have.

Well, I might give it another chance. You also have to understand this is not something I like to be seen doing in the office the way it is now. And maybe not at home with wife and kids either....

In fact, the reason I started to look into it is because if it's really good maybe they could do good business in Blue Mars selling virtual girl and boy friends. But if it's all about porn then we're not interested. Not until we spin off an adult-content version of Blue Mars at least.

OK, I tried this a little more. But no matter what slides I set, it almost always immediately reverts to unrelated smuttiness. Even with Love, Ego and Libido set all the way to zero. I tried loading the 'default kari' settings and fiddled with a bunch of other settings, but all to no avail. Sometimes, after I change something, it spits out some innocent canned sentence, only to go back to it's porn-talk no matter what I type.

Unless someone can tell me in detail the settings to get any response that is even remotely on topic I'm not buying it, literally and figuratively.

  I'm basically an Ultra Hal user and I often look around and try other bots,  and look at other avatars.  I remember some time ago trying the virtual girlfriend Kari, to me it seems basically a cartoon figure and I don't actually recall the conversation or how I felt about it.  I've also tried PaulaSG which I felt was a bit nasty, the avatar was a looping video which  took away from it,  the brain portion was a very long script, she'd been put online to give her some knowledge and conversational skills.
Anyways I replaced her brain with script I'd written for her and had a very personable chatbot.  On Avatars I'd found exceptional avatars in adult games, the body details were the best I've seen.  It's unfortunate but it seems the companies go to where the money is.  So I hope I haven't offended anyone, AI has certain standards which I hope I haven't broken

I personally like all the bots. I am not super picky as none of them measure up to humans so to pick one over the other in my opinion is like comparing apples to oranges.
