Firefox 3
« on: August 15, 2008, 12:42:54 pm »
Just wondering if anyone here is using this now.  I have v2 installed but was wondering if in version 3 they included hover over hints.  I mean say, in IE if you hover over an image you get a little text box show up with some text (set by the 'alt' command) about what it is.  I found there is an add-on for v2, but did they make this standard ?

I've been using ver 3 since it was released and I like it very much.
Yes, it does have the roll-over feature and tabbed browsing.

The Mozilla site offers add-ons like colored tabs, piclens (a really great
feature for scanning for images say with Google...).

They also have add-ons for Thunderbird including a nice calendar.
Thunderbird, is a pretty cool email program and works very well.

Both offer a wide range of options and customizations. Firefox also
warns me of sites that attempt to gain personal info from me.

Worth a try for the curious out there. They are all I use now!

Please, just another upgrade question but, sorry, about Windows.

Is it a good idea to upgrade XP Service Pack 2 to 3? I saw (elsewhere) many disturbing posts about that.  :(

Thanks Art, I was hoping that was the case with rollovers.  The reason I asked was because I was hoping Firefox users would be able to rollover the catagory icons I have used in the new Chatterbot Collection.  After what you say I think I will upgrade to V3.

GT40, I just have SP1 and SP2 and haven't had any problems.  I didn't actually know there was a SP3 so I would be interested in the answer to that question too.

GT, I have SP3 and have not found/seen any issues personally.

I too have accepted the SP3 upgrade and it seems to be working fine.

I finally upgraded to SP3, one month ago. Nothing special.  :)
