I recently started using an application called Obsidian for organising my thoughts, notes, and documentation. People who use it a lot say it's like having a second brain and I'm starting to see their point.

The main strengths of this software are that
- it is based on the plain text human readable markdown file format,
- it provides a highly customisable WYSIWYG editor for markdown files,
- it automatically tags and cross references everything as you add it.
It is so feature rich that it can be a bit overwhelming at first so I'd recommend working through some tutorials like this series. So far it is proving to be worth the effort of learning how to use something like this.

I have two similar apps on my tablet one is called Mindly and it allows for associations with web links, videos, and/or images with your notes. It works a lot like the Fractal Orbit (https://aidreams.co.uk/forum/human-computer-interaction/fractal-orbit/) that's been posted here. The other is called SimpleMind Lite which builds branching structures so you can relate ideas based on a hierarchy. Both are free and on the Play Store

Funnily enough, the authors of Obsidian added a link to their page today in honour of April Fool's day which describes your tablet apps very well.
