With regards to leadership, one could say things are returning to normal.

That's rather cynical but you're probably too young to remember when countries like the USA, the UK, and Australia had competent and worthy leaders instead of the ignorant, incompetent fools that are currently filling those positions. Now would be a good time to start learning Chinese.

No, I have developed a pretty strong aversion to cynicism due to political correctness. Probably more than is healthy. I feel like I’m losing track of true goodness, because of the political divide, how it has seeped into culture, and become personal. But I trust people will figure it out, just got to give us some time.

I meant that Germany may be returning to its normal Pre-World War status, possibly toting some acquired wisdom, having its mistakes now written into the fabric of an already efficient culture. While America on the other hand, may not have been a very stable long-term structure. Sure it was an effective societal model for growth and expansion, but great ability in one area typically comes with a cost in another area. In this case a possible susceptibility to burning itself out, or destabilizing through other means.
