I knew that Data. I can't recall who exactly but someone one these forums mentioned that Windows 8 could easily be configured to display the classic desktop similar to Windows 7. Was that you Data or is that statement even valid? This was sometime right after 8 came out.

I made sure my new tablet did NOT have 8 on it. (Some people are resistant to change) - (Change does not equate to comfort unless one is talking about a baby's diaper!)
 ;)

Sure that Windows 8 was invented for little machines like mine, and single tablets, and smartphones.

After a short minimalist test made by a dummy ordinary user (me), the final conclusion is: I love BOTH. The Asus and Windows 8. :) ;) O0

I'm glad you are liking it GT, really  :)
You should send an e-mail to MS, you never know they might change their mind about dumping 8 now they know someone likes it  :2funny:

Yes Art I think it probably was me that mentioned how you could almost revert Win 8 to 7, in fact you can now completely get the desktop to a good working Win 7 version, with a bit of hacking, but unfortunately there is still no way to completely get rid of the stupid windows Apps and that entire Metro system that is completely useless to office workers and power PC users.

Many thanks Data. Sincerely. You're right. I must send my support to MS. Before they invent a really stupid new OS (Windows 13?)... ;)

Nice find Freddy  O0

Finally MS have realised that many people still use a keyboard and mouse, spend most of their time on the desktop and want to use the taskbar for their programs. it really wasn't rocked science was it M$ ?

Very interesting, Freddy and Data. Many thanks. Maybe the ultimate Windows 8?

I'm glad MS finally hired true engineers and programmers. :2funny:
