Windows Live Mail, I use it and it works fine with Windows 7.  You can set it up to retrieve messages from Yahoo as well, which saves you having to log in to multiple accounts.  Basically it can be your central email client.

I use Outlook all the time with Windows 7 and my wife uses it with her Vista based computer.
She is using Outlook 2003 and I am using Outlook 2010 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, One Note included in MS OFfice 2010).
