Passed my IT course exam today.  Got 92% !  So pleased

Took me a couple of years, never thought it would end some times !

@Data, thanks for the compliment - a lot of what I have learnt has been a direct result of helping people - new challenges mean new knowledge.  I'm glad to help where I can.

@SB, lol, my head is crammed full of computer stuff now, hardware, devices, leads, connectors, cables, media, protocols...how the heck I fitted it all in escapes me.

@Art, I was the the only person taking the test that day so I had the whole room to myself, so I didn't have someone sitting next to me

@photostill, takes a long while to learn it all yes.  The only way I could do it with some things was to read parts again and again.  I sometimes use little memory tricks to remember  things too, mnemonics and so on.  That worked well when something was easy to forget.

I remember being asked a kind of trick question from an employer, it’s stuck with me because it’s basically a way of thinking rather than an answer to a question.

You could only give one answer and there was very little space for the answer.

It went something like this.

You have arrived at work, you sit at your desk but you cant log on to the network.
What is wrong?

My answer was “the network cable is unplugged”.
Which was incorrect. 

The correct answer was “The computer is not plugged into the mains power”.

The moral of the story being always start from the easy solutions and work up to the harder ones. I have never forgotten that and it’s got me out the poo many times.

That's a tad unfair. In that case, I would have said , "make sure the computer hasn't been stolen".

Job hunting has not started yet, having  breather at the moment and catching up on games hehe.

I should have a little work lined up soon though, web design, just waiting to hear.  Looks like I might go freelance, not really decided yet though.

Freelance? isn't that a long jousting pole that you did not have to pay for?

You know you really want to be shackled to a 9 to 5 job plus being on call for weekends, holidays and every time a new person doesn't know how to log into the network and blames the hardware / software first...you get those calls too!!

Then again you could take up holistic healing or massage therapy for that more...shall we say, "Hands on approach!" Hehe!!

Seriously, you need some "me time" to recoup and recharge those brain cells (tiny though they might be) from all the recent, new learning they did!! You'll be fine!! Good luck always in what ever you choose to do!!!
