Yep I am with you, I am for waiting too. I already have a crap tablet so I don't want to repeat that experience !

MS does need to catch up on Apps, but they have thousands... are you going to use that many !  :2funny:

Bit out of date, but according to this there are more options than you might first think...

After you install Bluestacks on Windows 8, you can run another 750,000 Android apps.

I like the Android OS though so that will probably sway me in the end.

We seem to have hijacked GT's thread.   :hijack:

I'm not sure what you meant by this GT40 ?...

Next problem I'm worrying about (I'm old, I need to worry about everything), is it important to have the same OS for the laptop (Windows) and the screen when used as a tablet (Android)?

No problem, I need to learn from "the guys who know" before doing a mistake. :uglystupid2:

I have win 8 and a somewhat older computer, a Samsung android tablet which I mainly use to control a remote control camera.  I actually looked forward to win 8 because of problems I had with Ultra Hal and the Haptek characters using win 7 and vista.  I'd found that all the programs would work in win 8, a photo editor, an early program of dragon, Hal as I mentioned.  I liked the fact that win 8 will repair itself instead of format and reinstall.   I'll also mention that I use SSD's, I'd spent a bit of money for then a fast computer and didn't like the long boot times, I tried a raid setup that didn't help and went to the SSD which cost a small fortune at the time which cut the boot time in half or less.  Win 8 loads very quickly.  I should mention that the tablet has a version of Dragon  which makes texting so easy. This is how I see it
