Claude, did you put in the driver I said?
From the images you posted it looks like you have installed the Intel chip set identifier but not the driver I linked to.

Vista was/is a dog of an OS. I have two computers here that are Vista and they both have their own bugs. Some of it is individual computer configuration, some of it is the OS.

Things that slow down Vista are items like when you change to another internal disc. It has to search the whole drive before it can show you what's on it. That's bs. The bigger the drive, the longer it takes.

With this old dual core computer, I can not install SP2 which means I won't be getting updates in security. I tried installing it and it locked up. The only way to fix it was to go into the startup screen and interrupt the process to restore it to an earlier version. It just would not completely boot up.

Like Me and 2000, Vista is a PNA rushed into market but not ready. I suspect in addition that part of it's problem is that they never got the DRM right in the hd. Up till Vista, hds didn't have DRM installed. XP had the capability but it wasn't activated. It is with Vista and with Win 7. This is why you can't delete Vista like you could all earlier OSes. You must take it out and put it in another computer as a slave drive in order to completely delete the OS or run a boot disc that allows you outside the hd to do it.

At least M$ is planning for an early retirement for the Vista OS. The newest version of IE will not run on anything but Win7.

I never liked Vista either, so buggy when it was released, its reputation was ruined almost straight away.

On a positive note we wouldn’t have Win7 without Vista, so I guess it was a stepping-stone that is now sinking back into the lake.

I didn’t realise that IE9 was only for Win7, how did that get past me, thanks for pointing it out Photostill.

Dear PhotoStill, and DataHopa, Vista is capricious! I am his psychologist, and me often takes his temperature!! It often has fever, he has a problem of heavy blood, then!! I give him his syrup has the mint every day, but!! It is not sufficient! It is as an old lady old, it often has pain, then he often needs an electro cardiogram! AHAHA! yes yes!! it is all Vista!! Arff!! ;D ;D :2funny:
