I left out (quite accidentally), that these are some quote taken from the Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows by John Koenig - photographer, graphic designer, writer.

avenoir - n. the desire that memory could flow backward

    We take it for granted that life moves forward. But you move as a rower moves, facing backwards: you can see where you’ve been, but not where you’re going. And your boat is steered by a younger version of you. It’s hard not to wonder what life would be like facing the other way…

n. the frustration of being stuck in just one body, that inhabits only one place at a time, which is like standing in front of the departures screen at an airport, flickering over with strange place names like other people’s passwords, each representing one more thing you’ll never get to see before you die—and all because, as the arrow on the map helpfully points out, you are here.

the meantime

n. the moment of realization that your quintessential future self isn’t ever going to show up, which forces the role to fall upon the understudy, the gawky kid for whom nothing is easy, who spent years mouthing their lines in the wings before being shoved into the glare of your life, which is already well into its second act.

n. the strange wistfulness of used bookstores, which are somehow infused with the passage of time—filled with thousands of old books you’ll never have time to read, each of which is itself locked in its own era, bound and dated and papered over like an old room the author abandoned years ago, a hidden annex littered with thoughts left just as they were on the day they were captured.

avenoir,  if your desire came true, and your remembered backwards it would just be the same thing in the other direction,  so that doesnt solve anything.

and one of my own->

starwarsitis ->  A young 10 yearold has now watched the same movie for the billionth time, and now its time for something new.  (its similar to playing a video game too much,  I start getting nightmares.)   In fact life seems that repetitive in general, that an attitude change is required to get over the pain.
We all just reinvent the same repetitive wheel,  you think what your making is so different???   probably the more spectacular it is,  the more you are filling your feet in some strangers shoes.     As im working on my cyber-eye,  Im starting to see little coloured dots of everything wherever I look.

What do I do about it?  I just have to accept the limits of being here on earth, as a little nerd.

Dreamnaut - When a child lies in a grassy field looking up at the fluffy cloud shapes wondering what, if anything, a cloud is or feels like. On a warm July night, looking up at a moon so huge you could almost throw a rock and hit it, the child wonders what it would be like to travel that far and go to the moon to walk among the landscape there.

You see, man had not yet ventured to the moon.

This was in the early 1950's and there was no such thing as space travel, except in that child's mind. That child was me....even then...I knew....

Art quoted, "you can see where you've been, but not where you're going."

Further, you saw where you'd be before going there.
