We have mentioned this project a few times in passing and I wondered how far it had got. It seems the old site is down now, but I found the guy who designed it (apparently his ideas were ripped off). There's a newish video here about home automation - lights in this case.

Yes, I've looked into this a bit.  There seem to be at least 2 projects, one called "Project Jarvis" and the other "Jarvis Project".  See my semi-automated webpage "100 Best JARVIS Videos" at above link.

In any case, home automation, smart home, and domotics (domestic robotics) seem to be merging with the Internet of Things (IoT), likely to become the bread and butter scenario for conversational AI in the near term.
