There is quite an improvement, but it still sounds a lot like IVONA and it is not worth thousands of dollars. I think that is absurd.

It is actually very pathetic. In fact, it is so pathetic that the already available (for free) engines make it look like antique software.

I take back what I said previously - there is no real improvement. Thanks for suggesting those sentences!

I use real voice for my character. Mainly, voices Off actor. The 'TTS' and other formats are not valid, too robotic intonation.

While that voice was still fairly clear, there are many really nice voices available. Some have such quality they're almost hard to distinguish from real voices.

Some of my favorite entries are those from Cereproc, Ivona and Cepstral. Some of my bots and automation programs actually use different TTS voices for their respective characters. AT&T voices while somewhat dated, are still quite clear and acceptable, IMHO.

Some of those were even offered recently at a discount. Shop to find the one that meets your needs as everyone's taste is different.

Certain sophisticated applications, are used in tablet and other technology. This look like a human voice, loop. And an intuitive interface, brings it fragment into a sentence, it is new. But still not really sold.
