Imagery link...

This is by far the best imagery that most realistically points out the dangers of artificial intelligence and advanced robotics.

Yeah I kinda reserved tickets for it 2 years ago... :D

These trailers and Marvel's other movies make me feel, unworthy and bored after watching them. Feeling all that excitement and people who live with a reason and when it ends it reminds me of how pointless my life is (at least seem to be at times). I am not depressed (in case you were wondering) it's just that I am an adrenaline junkie and want to do something big in my lifetime...
*goes off topic*

I was also supposed to watch Chappie tonight in 3D but I had to back off due to budget reallocation and sleepiness. Anyone here watch it yet?

Actually, as much as I'd love to see certain movies as soon as they show in the theaters, I always wait until I can either buy them at a reduced price at my local retailers or when it shows on Netflix. I don't have groups of friends who discuss movies and those "Wow, did you see that part when ...." moments and that's fine.

I prefer to relish in my own world as the movie unfolds around me and suddenly, there are no worldly distractions of any kind to interfere with my immersion, however temporary it might be. If purchased, it goes on my rack of other favorites for future enjoyment if I choose to watch it again or share it with a friend who hasn't seen it.

What if a person's choice in videos could "paint a picture" or help describe what a person is like? What kind of person would you be? Better yet...what kind of person ARE you? Hmmm... Pretty soon, we'll all be judged based on what kind of movies are in our private collections. (among everything else in our lives).

Yes I also don't know many (actually, any) people with whom I can discuss Sci-Fi movies and have not yet met anyone who has immersed him/herself into the MCU as much as I have. It is a real shame, since watching and connecting all these movies, short-clips and TV shows exponentially increases the size of this fictional reality or universe. Sometimes, just thinking about all of the cross-overs between 2 characters or movies blows my mind.

And I completely agree with you on that second paragraph - I usually watch in the dark, silent night where I can focus on the movie, story and all of the details - alone. It is much more relaxing and concentration is on a higher level. However I do not have the Dolby Digital Surround and 50m (exaggerated) 3D screen the big cinemas have, thus the only reason why I chose to watch in cinemas. I do however, also re-watch Marvel's movies some 10-15 times at home... Besides, this new Cineplexx they opened in my town has somewhat smaller rooms with better acoustic properties so the distractions are minimal.

That first animated gif on 'factory stuffups' really gets me thinking about this robotics stuff,  imagine if it were a more higher form of robot brain, and,  it happens as well,  now thats freakin scary.

Movies are ok if one wants the experience of sitting in a previously used seat with dubious stains, unknown matter strewn about the floor that sticks to you shoe bottom in hopes of being transported to your home flooring where it can set up residency. Armrests on the chairs that likely have all matter of human based material, some sticky and some not so much.

Then there's the people, some of whom went to the theater (re) to enjoy the movie and some for the social gathering circle of friends who's non-stop jabber is rude and disruptive. Some other people can't stop checking their cell phone for messages, calls, twitter or facebook status, etc.

Lastly, there's the outrageous prices for the movie, overpriced popcorn, candy and soft drinks.

I have much more enjoyment staying at home, watching my more "cost effective" movies.

Well well, who sounds a lot like BBT's Sheldon there? :D

Although I must agree with you - everything is overpriced but I assume it would still pay off more then buying your own 3D system with surround sound. Also, I believe in most high-end cinemas they do rigorous clean-ups a few times each day.

I get you, but really, a decent, reasonably priced Home Theater - Surround Sound system, doesn't have to break the bank.
There are many brands and features from which to choose and while I am not a purist or advanced audiophile by any means, I have come to enjoy the experience and joy that a nicely setup HD, HDMI Surround Sound system can offer to enhance one's cable / satellite / DVD viewing & listening pleasure.

Once purchased, your SS should provide years of enjoyment as the sound wraps itself around you during airplane flyovers, wargames, cowboys & Indians, jungles, cartoons and numerous rented DVD's. A rainstorm on film almost makes you feel as if you're about to get wet just by sitting in your chair!

(and my chair and floor remains clean and free of stale chewing gum! ;))

Art, I believe the two of us have picked us this bad habit recently - can you count on how many topics we got terribly sidetracked? xD

Anyway - yes you are right, but since I only go to the cinema in case there is  Marvel or other major movie (so, 5 times  year max?) it is not much of an economic issue and the average system I have at home (HDMI, middle-size FHD TV, laptop with 2.1 channel audio as a source and Samsung Sound System as amplifier and speakers) is enough for other non-epic movies :)

Also, I see you have bad experience and history regarding hygiene in theaters, so I will not attempt to convince you otherwise (even though I do not share your experiences).

Yeah...my mother said I would eventually stop spilling my drinks and spitting my gum on the theater floors and throwing popcorn but she was wrong. That's why I only do that when I go to the cinemas and never at my home!!  OK...OK...Just Kidding!!! :2funny:

I have one of those accounts for less than $8.00 per month that lets us watch as many movies as we want (as many times as we want...if you're into rewatching or re-viewing a movie). What one considers the cost, that is a bargain for us!! There are so many genres and varieties / categories, that one could easily watch a different movie each day for a month and still wouldn't touch the surface of what was there to watch.

For us it's great and we don't have to go out in nasty weather, parking, then the whole inside the theater scene, earlier described. We like our Roku and Netflix. Your mileage might vary! O0

I'm very much looking forward to the new Avengers movie. I am interested to see how it fits in with Captain America:Civil War when it comes out. I'm a bit disappointed that they changed Ultron's origin story from Antman being it's creator to Tony Stark but I can see how well it would work with the MCU.  I'm also wondering if this is to take place after the events of Ironman 3. Having had his arc removed and all of his suits destroyed, does this lead into the extremis suit from the comics?

I too spend countless hours re-watching these movies. I always seem to find something new I had not noticed before.
