There is such a thing as the United Colonies of Ants!
« on: August 15, 2021, 11:40:30 pm »
A supercolony of ants is actually made up of many smaller colonies, they do genetically separate themselves for mating but they are not aggressive to one another and even collaborate. The largest supercolony is 3,700 miles and is composed of billions of ants, they're called Argentine ants.

So the question I have is: Should we call this type of super organization a nation? I mean here's a different form of life that is organizing itself in a complex way that is about harmonizing other colonies to unite as one. If the ants had starships we'd certainly call their organization a nation.  The ant only has 250,000 neurons but does things modern neural networks still can't do: here's an article that address that issue.

250,000 neurons,  but what magic is controlling them?
