So I thought I would share these surprisingly deep 'sculptures' with you guys..

It is worth noting and discussing that they brought up that old question in my head again - how would you (or an A.I.) describe the pattern by which we recognize 'humanoid' lifeforms (or objects, in this case) ?

Head, neck, Body (chest-abdomen), legs, feet and usually in a size ratio to each other. Lot of art classes lead students to assume 7-1/2 to 8 heads per body height but this is not always the rule, especially with those of diminutive size or stature, nor above average height nor those who might be more rotund and those who might be on the thinner side.

So, when the police asked several people to describe the suspect, his final result was a "Tall, thin, short, fat, bald-headed man with curly hair!"

You still have to have a head, neck, body, legs and feet (and these are mostly but not always the "normal" criteria).

Good luck training your computer to get this one right each time. ;)

Not even we get it right every time and then there is also perspective and perception - optical illusions in which you either see one thing or the other. It is too complex and in cases impossible to be sure - the closest an A.I. could get to reality and us is by having the ability to 'guess' or estimate.

Anyhow, this is also relates to beauty - what are the criteria by which we identify somebody (at least, their face) as ugly, cute, evil or even stupid? The last two might be explained by natural stereotyping, but the first two are much deeper. Some theorize that Fibonacci's golden ratio is a kind of sub-conscious, natural measurement for this, since the research proved that people usually find more symmetric faces more attractive.

I personally think there might be some truth in this, but there also must be a psychological level which explains why and to what a certain face associates to. For example, if somebody reminds us of a bully from our past, it would seem more likely that we will not find their face as attractive if it did not associate in such a way. Also, I believe there is a huge amount of 'parameters' and elements of our face being 'checked' for symmetry, on a more local level. So, we don't just 'measure' the symmetry of one's face in general, yet we individually compare parts of their face (nose, ears, forehead etc.) and then form a more general conclusion about one's beauty.

I'd like to hear more opinions on this since I haven't found much studies or other short documentaries regarding the topic, nor have I heard the actual public opinion regarding this.
