What destroyed our world...
« on: April 15, 2015, 01:51:31 pm »
For long scientists, writers and philosophers have listed (in order of probability) the things that will most likely destroy our planet - well, the time has come to find out who was right.

We did. As some wise speakers have said, "We will not destroy Earth - she is strong and will continue to exist, she just won't support us anymore.". That just about sums it up - we will drive ourselves away from our very own source, cut off our roots and destroy the home and environment that forged us.

This whole period seems like somebody is really trying to use us as slaves, and along with our planet - as a resource. I refuse to believe that such a big part of humanity is not heavily troubled by what we are collectively doing and are not attempting to at least ease the pain.

There was a TV show a couple of weeks ago that looked at the top 10 ways that might cause the end of the world. Number one was nuclear war but AI was included, as well as alien attack, asteroids, super volcanoes, deadly virus and so on.

Moon serves as a giant gyroscope to Earth and it is going away from us, slowly but steadily. One day our rotation axes will go wild without Moon and there will be severe climate changes like for five hours there will be -20°C and for other five hours there will be +40°C.

Poor roaches...

Honestly...I really have other things to worry about. If the planet blows up cest la vie! (or death...as the case may be).

Perhaps they'll have it all figured out whenever Earth version 6.0 rolls around and some get to do it all over!

"What doesn't kill me makes me stronger."...

"Life is survival of the fittest."

The Earth is like a giant forge of life - after every hit it takes and after every mass extinction it forces out a new, more robust species. If we are to go extinct, it is for the better. As long as the Earth lives, it is going to get stronger and conceive more powerful lifeforms.

Maybe these lifeforms won't be stronger than us or smarter then us... They may even be the worst (weakest) possibly form of life for another planet, but they will be the best, undefeated and undisputed champion of the environment they live in. They will be the best possible combination for that specific scenario.

If humans are to ever go extinct, I hope it is by a very smart form of A.I. Why? Because it would be like having your kids taking after you. We would be leaving the throne to something we created, which is much cooler then having mutated super-roaches take over.

Very smart form of A.I.? Most likely a virus or perhaps some uber strain of bacteria! Self-mutating and self-replicating with one sole purpose...the eradication of every living being on the planet!

In line with your other comment about newer, more powerful being to be created, I think most of those countless other planets capable of housing their lifeforms will be thinking the same thing. We're not the only ones out here. Don't expect any other beings to come here with any purpose other than our annihilation. They didn't develop their technology and transportation methods to come here to share and have a tea party with us. It'll be for keeps!

Indeed. If aliens ever do visit, they would have far more advanced technology than ourselves and we'd better hope they see us as pets (cats, dogs) rather than food (cows, pigs).

Slavery is I think, the term you were looking for @Art @Squarebear

Yes, it would be pointless for any alien race to befriend us unless they are to have a personal gain. Compassion and democracy are just another human invention, not a natural feeling. Okay, maybe compassion is an emotion but come on, what are the odds? Most humans barely care about millions who die of natural disasters, poverty, hunger etc. Why would aliens love us more than ourselves?

"Why would aliens love us more than ourselves?"

Interesting...perhaps ONLY if the aliens were the Original beings who first brought our species here and established our human race on this planet. They might stop by to see how the experiment is progressing. ;)

(it's merely a theory but it's certainly been in print many times before my posting).

To be honest, I forgot about those... Let's say my previous reply was referring to 'all the other aliens'. Yes, I agree it may be a possibility, however there is also a chance that those aliens would rather create a 'work-force' species intelligent enough to mine out the entire planet. From a human point of view (not my personal however) we would rather use this cute planet for it's resources instead of wasting it on an organic A.I. experiment.

Then again there are other planets (in our system too) that contain vast amounts of resources. Earth's unique trait is that it can support life.

But then again, you can't create a slave species to mine your resources on a planet that cannot support life...

Don't worry, sometimes I speak out loud these statements contradicting my own original thoughts.

You may with to engage a little reading about Nibiru and the Annunaki. Taken from ancient Sumarian Text, Mr. Sitchin describes a theory of how we came about.

Feel free to search for Mr. Sitchin and Nibiru.
