How is he today Data ?

He seems happy with life, purring away and still loves being stroked, has to be a good thing, but he isn’t right, at the moment my other half is feeding him by hand, he wont eat out of his bowl, doesn’t want to go out and still very thin, the thing that worries me the most is the cough, well its like a cough, its almost as if he is trying to clear something from his throat but it doesn’t ever clear.

I don’t think he is suffering, if he was I would be on the phone to the vet again, so I think he will be ok until Tuesdays trip to the vet.

@ DH, Furball? Is he on a soft or hard food diet?

He is on a mixture of wet and dry food, mostly wet food though. At first we thought it was a furball too, I would love it to be just that, I think the plan is to thoroughly check him over on Tuesday.

And I am going to mention furballs to the vet this time, I forgot last time.

Thanks guys, your comments do help a little in this very sad time, I miss him so much, words cant describe it.

For a good number of years while I was growing up, I had a steadfast, loving friend named Nickie, a large German Shepherd who was smart, well behaved, and playful. From the time I was about 8, till I joined the Coast Guard and left home at 18, he was my eager adventure buddy; always cheerfully walking/running beside me through whatever mischief I was up to at the time. Nickie remained in our family for many years after I left home, until old age, the pain of arthritis and failing senses finally drove him to attack my (then) 3 year old niece (she tried to pet him while he was unaware of her presence). She wasn't hurt, thank God, but Mom and Dad felt that they couldn't risk a repeat occurrence, so asked the vet to put him down. That was 30 years ago (next month, in fact), and I find that I still miss him. Pictures of him still bring that uncomfortable tightness in my throat, and a slight stinging to my eyes.

  I came here and read the last few pages of the general chat, I would like to say I feel very badly for the people involved in the various unfortunate problems which they have to deal with at this time. Things could be going a little better for myself but after reading the last few pages I feel I have a great deal to be thankful about. Wishing you all the best during these difficult times for you.

DH, I've been away on assignment. Sorry to hear that you friend was needed elsewhere! Enjoy and recall the good time and great memories you have had together. They are our true friends who have managed to speak to us without words and touched our lives without realization.
