My desktop from 2002 is brand new

Not quite sure how things work in France but, here in the UK, anything from 2002 would no longer be considered "Brand New".  :2funny:

It works the same way, here in the States, I'm afraid. :( Maybe the French have developed a type of time travel? :-\

Many thanks Dave, I'm very flattered you think the French could invent something but no worries, the thing isn't dangerous.

Maybe one day or another I will explain my secret (very simple, free), but hey, for now, it's a secret weapon. :2funny:

I’ve been thinking about Apple and MS.

I see Apple is now the biggest company in the USA, even bigger than the so called “ Evil Microsoft  >:D ”, this is going to make them and their devices the number one target for hackers to make lovely viruses for, the hackers will always attack the biggest and bad boys. (it is the way of things, like it or not)

I always thought Apple devises were over-priced; this kind of proves it.

The company is now worth $623.52 billion and sits on a huge mountain of cash that it doesn’t know what to do with.

Me, I think they should use some of that huge mountain of cash to help the world out of this recession; after all it’s the world that made them so rich.

I know, it will never happen.

I’m going to stick with MS, and now it’s for moral reasons too  O0

No clue, my friend; but if you find out, can you let me know? I have this feeling I'm gonna need all the help I can get, soon. :)

Chances are, the total for all my medical bills will top half a million dollars, and the guy that hit me doesn't have THAT much insurance, and no other assets. :o Things are gonna get pretty tight, pretty soon, financially. :(

When the guy that hit you runs out of insurance from his company, then I think in most situations, you then sue yourself (ie: collect from your own insurance company), or something very similar as I'm not an insurance agent (thank the gods).
If that doesn't work...then there's always ObamaCare. Good luck with that!

Dave, you poor unfortunate fellow, how on earth will you find that sort of money. I have to say, when I read or hear about these situations, I thank my lucky stars I live in the UK. Here we have our National Health Service. Although we contribute towards it's running, rather in the way of Insurance Premiums, there is almost no limit to the amount of care/surgery you can receive and no nasty surprise bills at the end. Now this service is not perfect, however, it may be if it wasn't exploited quite so much.

BTW Dave, I've had a whip round with the chaps here in the UK, (yes all of us you lucky boy), the Princely sum of £5 will be in the post shortly.

In all seriousness Dave, if you do find yourself with serious financial difficulties, do let us know, I'm certain that, as a family collective, we can come up with something to help.  O0

Take care my friend and get fit soon.  :)

@Art: According to my lawyer, after he's exhausted every other option, and if there's still money owed, the next step is to declare 'Medical Bankruptcy', which may or may not be effective. We'll just have to wait and see.

@Diesel: Your care and concern is truly touching, and very much appreciated, and I'll keep the offer in mind. :)

Dave: you can always move over here. (Almost) free health care for everyone, including the physio therapy for years to come!!
With stories like that, I just can't understand why so many americans are still against a national health insurance scheme. You didn't cause the accident, right? (otherwise the other guy wouldn't have to pay for it), so I just can't understand why you would need a lawyer. Doesn't the insurance/government take care of all that stuff?

Seen quite a bit on the TV about the American health service or lack of, I might be wrong but to me it comes down to.

The rich and middle class don’t want to contribute to health care for the less-well-off.

Which in Britain is a must do.

And don’t believe the crap that is said about our National Health Service on American TV (Yes I have seen them say its no good) It has saved my life twice now and many of my family members too and none of us are in debt because of it.

We Brits love our national health

3 cheers for the NHS chaps,  hip hip …

I would also like to invite Dave to the UK but I think the colder weather might put him off  :)

yep, that's a bit of a minus. Over here as well, it's about the same as in England: mostly cloudy with a daily drizzle. I'd say, you could move to Spain, Italy or Greece, but then again, their finances aren't that great.

Yes recent experience makes me thankful for our good old NHS service.  It's not perfect but it gets the job done most of the time I think.

Here in the US each individual must choose to obtain insurance on an individual basis (or possibly family if one has other than himself / herself + kids). Just like auto insurance, one opts for the best type of coverage one can afford or that their respective company / place of employment offers. One then makes regular monthly contributions or premiums toward that coverage be it auto, home or health.

I don't expect others to assist in paying for my homeowners or auto insurance therefore WHY would I expect them to pay for my health insurance?

This country was not founded on Socialism. Our ancestors left oppressive nations in exchange for religious and monetary freedoms (taxes).

During our working lives we contribute to a thing called Social Security and upon retirement (usually aged 66 for full benefits or 62 for partial), one can draw a small portion of that money in an attempt to help supplement the individual's retirement savings or pension account. Trouble is, most Americans do NOT save a proper portion of their income because a lot of them would rather "live for the moment" instead of tighten up the belt and save for the proverbial "rainy day".
Currently we are growing a youthful population who feels "entitled" to anything and everything in general. They should immediately have the Showy car, large, not a job but a career with a huge salary and a large house with all the amenities. Yes, they are the entitled ones!

Why should one person work hard for most of their life and have to assist in paying for someone who didn't? There is NO Free Lunch! Someone, somewhere is paying for it!

Socialism only works until you run out of other people's money!!!

That's it as I see it! <ya had to get me started...didn't ya!!>
Peace out!!
