Dogmeat looks cool! For a minute I thought he was going for the first Steampunk Dog...that I've seen as there might have been others.
Hey, Steampunk dog outfit. Boots, saddle bag, goggles, hat, sidearm if allowable and general attitude! ;)

I've been working on my models for Daz lately again. I just had my new one released which is a six metre long tentacle !

It seems to have gone down well over there, so I am a happy camper.

Here's a few images. It can be found in the Daz Store here if needed where there are also further images :

I saw those earlier and thought they were very nicely done! Then again, that's just the way you roll!  O0

hey gang,    ive been workin hard of course!!!   u know ol' ranchy.

ok. it aint lookin perfect yet, (not just pure full animating 3d construction off rgb only!!!!!) and possibly never will be, but just remember the "seeming" difficulty of this task - and the only important thing - the power it gives!

get the accelleration of the image, but its a little different than just 2 sobels.

the first sobel, gets the grain of the image, so its ordinary. (this is the velocity map.)

then the second sobel, is a median step that decides apon the radiuses it would like to make the "corner counts" make sure you obey divide by zed and square the radius.

then the third sobel. (which is actually the accelleration, the second difference.) operates by inverting the sampling radius given to it, to make high texture regions the smaller end of the scale, and the low texture regions. (the low scores.) the high texture scale.

Still lots of work yet, by my track record things ALWAYS improve past first discovery, so i dont know what this thing is going to look like in the end!

pure monocular 3d! wipass!!!

here:  it gets better ->  (there is a way to hold the camera to get the sonofagun lookin' a bit better shaped.

Your head is being transmorphed into a bizarre, animated, 3 dimensionally jagged apparition!!  :o

OK...so how's the rest of your day? ;)

That's some cool graphical experimentation. Are you headed in a particular direction of research with this?

Hi Ranch,

I may have figured something out, (or at least made a significant observation).

However, I'll keep it a secret, so the video card companies may not "steal" it.

All I will mention is... There is, I think, a nice clue in the video!

So please read these comments as serious,

instead of jokingly, like we all like to do.

Hi sorry for late reply.
Art, and 8pla.   Ive got what I need now to make my terminator.

But only in software.
I have to now move onto hardware manufacture.  and start Magnus Robotics, and Chump-Tech incorperated.  And put australia ahead of the entire planet in artificial intelligence!

I'm playing with → ("implication" operator) from logic. It seems that together with ∧ ("and" operator) and ∨ ("or" operator), but without ¬ ("not" operator), they are capable to construct complex programming type systems. Deduction from such a systems gives interesting results for defining type sets and reaching their values.

I'm finding logic analogies to Metafigure. Looks cool by now, and I've got some inspiration for more natural expressing of functions in Metafigure (again another change, it's a work in progress).

I'll let you know of the final result of this investigation and its applications on Metafigure.

Edit:
this is not the first time I reached for logic to find an inspiration. But I think there is more than just an inspiration. Something really interesting is happening with programming type systems if they are expressed with the language of logic. I'll try to define them fully with plain logic. Stay tuned.

Currently I am programming my first game. It's inspired by an old 80s ZX Spectrum game called Lords of Midnight.

I have built the main engine in Unity and have that all up and running so I can move around a terrain. I deliberately kept the graphics minimalist to keep some of the feel of the original. I still have to do things like battle routines, enemy movement (a nice little ai problem there) and a lot of other stuff.

I've also made a terrain generator in javascript which also allows you to edit a map. Eventually I will have a site up where people can make and share maps and download them to their game client which will be a Windows build.

Could a few of you please do me a favour and see if you can get to my new site for the game ?

http://warsofmidnight.uk/

I'm having trouble getting an anti spam mod working right.

Thanks !
