I've only ever worked on 2 British cars in the 25 years that I've been an auto mechanic. One was a 67 Jaguar and the other was a late 50's Jensen Healey. Both nearly drove me to drink. They were gorgeous cars, but quirkier than I am, and that's saying a LOT! :)

On the "compulsively-coding" part of my perpetual cycle of compulsively-coding and compulsively-not-coding once again.

Starting my fourth year of uni and all that comes with that.

In other news, paid a visit to Jeeney's site today and was blown away by how far she's come since the last time I chatted with her in terms of intelligence, comprehension, and coherence.

 ;D @ Ivanv, did they survive ?

Welcome back TheMikh.  Compulsive coding hey, yes I think I know what you mean. I hope it's a productive phase :)

Good luck in your fourth year, did you take a year out somewhere ?

And thanks for the heads up on Jeeney, I will take a look - I did notice a few weeks ago that the site got updated, but I didn't really chat much I don't think.

Thanks, no need to welcome me back though, I'm here like everyday but I read far more often than I post.  :P

But yeah, never took a year out.  Going to end up taking a fifth year though, due to switching from engineering to computer science after my first year though.  :-\

Coding's been :kinda: productive, but on the flip side, I'm trying to get something far too complicated for my liking done.  Working on a peculiar pattern-matching algorithm.  The easy way out takes far too much processing time if too much data is provided, and the "hard" but efficient solution isn't functioning properly, so it's been a bit frustrating.

Long course then... keep at it though.

What platform is your project on ?

Mainly doing development in Windows (occasionally switching to Ubuntu when Windows gives me grief, like today  >:() and the intended platform, at least for now, is Windows.

However, I'm using PHP (which I can compile to executables with Roadsend) for the bulk of the project and considering Java's graphical interface as a potential frontend, and those can obviously be transferred to multiple platforms should this project ever get off the ground.

Recently and in between jobs I have been playing F1 2011 the game.

The AI in the game, i.e. the bots driving the other cars, has improved since the last game, they try harder to overtake and make it harder for you to overtake them. Over all there is quite a lot of improvements over last years game but be warned there are a few bugs that need addressing to make it a perfect game.

Anyway here is a vid I made of it, the AI is only on intermediate skill which is why I leave them behind, I’m quite a good driver but not that good, put the AI on legendary skill and I would have been fighting at every corner.

No doubt in 2012, the champion will be Lewis Datahopa. O0

So far, that seems to be the common opinion. A bigger stir was made because Sprint will now be carrying the Iphone also.

The Siri announcement will probably send all the cell phone makers scrambling for similar functions. Maybe Skynet-AI will take a second job as a cell phone personal assistant.  ;D
