A friend of mine once used a pretty neat technique and I adopted and used it too several years ago.

Make a New Folder and name it say, Graphics. Make another one and name it, Utilities, and so on for whatever category you desire.

Select several of your Graphics programs and drag them onto the Graphics Folder (or however you wish to transport them there).

You'll find that you'll soon be left with only a relatively small assortment of Folders on your desktop, elimniating tons of clutter and providing your desktop with some breathing room.

True, you may have to perform an extra click or two but you can always complain much like George Jetson who said his "Button pushing finger was tired!"

Oh yeah, here's mine...

Bragi, I like your fense idea.
So much that I went to download.com and got it.
May add little order to a wild landscape.
Ye, that's also why I initially went out to look for something that could help me out. I installed it once and haven't had to think about it since.
Personally, I don't really understand why microsoft never added something similar to windows as a default feature.

It 's true, like Art says, you can also do something similar with 'regular' folders, but this is just so much easier, with far less things to think about.

Somewhat in line with GeekCaveCreations posting, Freddy and I thought it might be nice to not only showcase some of our more favorite backgrounds / wallpapers but to post them for others to see and use as well.
Check out the Creativity > Wallpapers section!! Post away but do observe the posting limits per posting.
