would emp gunning a robot make you feel sad?
« on: April 07, 2020, 02:44:30 pm »
I was looking it up, and i cant seem to find footage of someone doing it,  maybe it looks like its a fly getting sprayed with its legs randomly jutting everywhere.  It doesnt have a soul, so it just **looks** like its dieing, because robots dont die, they are just like animated rocks at best.

If it was a "killer Robot" intent on human destruction then, by all means, take it out...destroy it. Otherwise, we will and must learn to coexist with them. For now, not all robots are "Killer bots".

Rocks don't fight back, they're vulnerable. Robots don't either. And most don't have a cute face or can help us much, so our instinctive love for the face or gifts is not stimulated... So we recycle them. Behind the face is blood n all, wires....it is the attraction/pain and self defense that lead to dominance and order/norm, not some dimensional oversee-er making sure all goes nicely! :)

Oh, ya, friendly robots get hurt worse, they'll become greedy if they can. Cooperation is good only if it's useful/ the time is right. There's stages in evolution where it is chaos or revolutionary change...

Here some battle bots that fight to the bloody death, in a ring full of sinister traps and has a crowd of people cheering  for their death and waiting in aw for the champion to rise amongst the fighters.

LOOK AT THAT LITTLE GUY GO AT 2:14!

And those Battle Bots are Totally Controlled by HUMANS! It's a scaled-down version of Demolition Derby where drivers pit their cars and skill against each other in a contest to destroy each other's vehicles first! Quite a show for the amusement of the modern Gladiatorial crowd or citizens!!

What would be really cool and way more interesting would be for the Battle Bots to be programmed to "see" and react to where the "enemy" bots were inside of the arena. Let them use an onboard AI to figure out a strategy for winning!! No human intervention except for an emergency or to shut it down at the end of a match as needed.

Art, that's getting closer to the "throwing 2 hamsters in a ring and see who's is smarter".

See, hamsters are just more advanced machines. Primitive AI has short/small direct context, hamsters have big deep context. Everything makes decisions based on context- even rocks.

Uhh...Do you read what you just typed? ROCKS?  Rocks make decisions? In what world? How?

:) The atoms and particles of rocks, all make decisions. Some calcify or age, turn colors, it is a very active world in a rock, you just don't see it. Heat is constantly moving particles, allowing decisions to be made.

Oh, here is the autonomousy! Look it explains they have AI !

And these, wow!!

this, this, THIS!!! This is a extremely funny video and quite intelligent.

what about virtual hamsters!?? Is it wrong?

With all due respect, Decision indicates a conscious choice, compared to a Reaction which is a condition due to some outside influence (weather, temperature, moisture, humidity, wind, etc.)

Rocks do not Think nor make Decisions, at best, they React to external conditions.

This is a new theory I made so may be tad flimsy.

There is 2 types of generators. Rocks, brains, etc all are made of particles and any particle or structure made of particles (in effect. Ex. all move at the same time, acting like a particle) react to context. Everything therefore, makes a decision, based on neighboring context.

Brains however do indeed have a lot of intelligent systems operating. They are generative and re-generative. Re-generative means the 'particles' make on-topic clones of themselves with some mutation. Brains simply use a lot more context, from the past and even the predicted future, to make a reactive decision.
