A rock's reaction has no uncertainty, so it isn't a choice, it's mandatory. I think choice is produced by uncertainty, (indecision).

I choose, to like your post. Because I wanted to prove you WRONG.

:)!

Uncertainty is when you have few statistics, little data. So prediction isn't that good. Humans can be predictable in many ways.

Humans predict things, that itself is a context based choice, about how things will make context based choices/predictions - like rocks do.

I paused... then decided to like your comment to prove YOU wrong!  ;D

Ok, uncertainty isn't where it's at. Indecision is the thing. It can be created by known context, and yes, it is deterministic like its atomic constituents. But it is still an important distinction between a human and a rock. We are able to create indecision because we have the ability to derive contradictory implications from an input, thus creating a problem, which requires a pause in reaction in order to solve. Rocks don’t pause, so they don’t make choices, and presumably also don’t have problems.

A few years younger than me eh? Dude, there's no free will. Contradiction is data based.

Yes rocks don't use a lot of context from past experiences 'stored' and don't scan the sentence several times, they just process context different, we use more, deeply, and generate similar context as replication.

Look, I’m skeptical of pessimism. It’s kind of like poor man’s realism. There’s often an attitude of “you can’t face the truth because the truth is awful”, and it boils down to a subtext of “I’m better than you”. The acceptance of negative facts gets tied into your status, and so we get predisposed towards accepting negative facts, becoming socially risk averse towards positive facts because they could make us look weak. Why should cold hard truths be held in higher regard than warm fuzzy truths?

Whatever it is, awareness is so weird, and inescapable by virtue of its nature. No place can be observed without an observer. No sound can exist without a conscious auditory system. Consciousness is like an existential singularity, equivalent to a gravitational singularity. No free will? What’s restraining my freedom? I am a portion of the universe. The matter I am tells itself how to behave, while simultaneously following its own rules. You can view matter as only being controlled by context, or as only exerting control over context, so it’s probably both. And if that’s true at the atomic scale, then why not at larger scales and in more complex forms, such as humans?

I barely read what u said cause this robot business is getting me ignorant.
The human equation is a complex one, much complexified over shitty robots.  I with that own your choice too!   u can look at it as if its fated, but what if that causes lazy behaviour, and its to believe u do control yourself.

When humans die, it's only sad for those left behind. That person who died didn't feel a thing at the very moment of death.

As far as Free Will, humans have "Limited" Free Will in that they are only ALLOWED to do certain things or to go to certain places or to (in many countries) say certain things. Therefore, the concept of Free Will is not totally Free nor is it always one's Will.

Now get back to work!! O0
In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!

Having some unearthing moments eh?

That's right, it's memory will be gone. You could pull out neuron after neuron and I'd still be me, just less memory able to access. You could start fresh actually.
