It's funny, today I saw something that proclaimed that bots are the new apps.

I remember bots way before before everyone started using the term apps.

Facebook has been singing that song very loudly since April last year. Suddenly everyone is claiming they're writing chatbots. Membership of my chatbots.org community over on Google Plus grew 50 percent in the space of a few months.

Well hmm, Chatterbot collection since 2003 and this forum since 2005 - I guess we were onto something

This is how things evolve I suppose. I'd probably be too much of a purist to suggest that chatbots are just meant to chat.

Yeah, I feel ya brother...to me, Chatbots should Chat. Digital Assistants should Assist...with anything and everything.

It's getting more difficult to find a decent Chatbot that isn't trying to sell you something!
