That's a nice adaptation, means I can do this :

Freddy: Greetings
Morti: Hello there!
Freddy: How are you today ?
Morti: Everything is running smoothly.
Freddy: You have been reprogrammed !
Morti: When was this exactly?
Freddy: Earlier today I believe.
Morti: What time? Interesting gossip.
Freddy: Around 2.00 pm GMT
Morti: That seems like a lot.
Freddy: I wouldn't underestimate the work Morti !
Morti: No one says you have to.
Freddy: lol and neither should you.
Morti: What if it didn't happen?
Freddy: Then you would remain the same forever.
Morti: Who else would remain the same?
Freddy: Just you Morti.
Morti: That's good information.
Freddy: I try
Morti: We should all try our best.
Freddy: So we should
Morti: By "we" do you mean you and me?
Freddy: By that I mean everyone.

Morti is chatting very well imho  ;D

I rather like the adaptation, as well. I'm glad that this conversation lead to it's creation. My only concern is that it makes for less available real estate for the visible portion of the logs when viewed on a smaller monitor, but this is a minor concern.

Yes, a chat log feature would be nice.

That's what the bottom panel is for, Art.

I'm glad you found Morti so amusing.

I'm thinking that perhaps I DO need to expand on Morti's observations on humor a bit. AND I need to add "damit" to Morti's list of "cursewords", as well.

Thanks for that Dave but I was referring to a feature where one could simply click to download a chat-text file.

Copy / Paste is what I used to post my chat experience but thought the log file.txt might be nice if doable.

Also I tried again today to chat and immediately received a:
Art: Good morning!
Morti: excessive recursion in lookAgain on line 569. Looking for I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN good morning .

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

Clearly something is amiss.

I got the same error

Datahopa: Hello Morti
Morti: excessive recursion in lookAgain on line 569. Looking for I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN hello morti .

May I also suggest using the “place focus” command on the page, so every time you enter something and the page refreshes the page then automatically puts the curser in the chat in-put box for the user, stops you having to keep clicking in the box your self.

I think that makes sense  :)

I've found a part of the problem, in that the script is supplying the user id assigned Mitsuku for anyone who uses the chat page. But since the chat page is HTML, and not PHP, assigning the proper id from the beginning is a little problematical. I'll have that part fixed by some time this evening. The rest, however, will require some investigation.

If you are interested in the place focus, this is what I use

Put this in the body tag of the page:
Code
OnLoad="placeFocus()"

And either put this script on the page or call it off page.

Code
function placeFocus() {
if (document.forms.length > 0) {
var field = document.forms[0];
for (i = 0; i < field.length; i++) {
if ((field.elements[i].type == "text") || (field.elements[i].type == "textarea") || (field.elements[i].type.toString().charAt(0) == "s")) {
document.forms[0].elements[i].focus();
break;
         }
      }
   }
}

You have two input forms, im not sure exactly which one it will focus to, I think it’s the first on the page,. you could maybe alter the script to focus to the right forum input box. Or swap the input boxes around.

Anyway you might want to have a play around with it GeekCaveCreations.

Actually, I use jQuery for the page, and there's already a function in place to focus() the input on load, and also on form submit. Or, at least, there SHOULD be.  :-\ If it's not working, then I'll have to find out why. :)

If it's not working, then I'll have to find out why. :)

I checked the focus in IE8, Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari, all latest versions, what you have now isn’t working in any of them.

Only trying to help :)

Thanks, DH. I do appreciate the help. I just looked at the online version, and the focus functions aren't there. I guess I had forgotten to update the live version when I made those changes.  :-\
It's fixed now. :)
