Project: Megaman
« on: March 09, 2010, 06:02:48 am »
I was wanting to keep this under wraps but alot of good it has been
the project:
It was real simple really I needed a way to interface hal and roborealm which through all my research it can be done but being lousy in programming I have no idea what to do but the combined program was to work a humanoid simular to what will has done in zabaware forum
any and all help will be greatful

Hey Sigma X, On your Megaman Idea (if I understand it) of combining RoboRealm.coms "vision for machines" with the Chatbot Ultrahal. To me that seems like an outstanding idea!  You hook up sensors and sensor processing with the knowledge, communication and conversational interaction of UltraHal and you are beginning to build a true android brain. So I think you are thinking in the right direction. Or you could say that the Chatbot is becoming a complete (sensors/effectors/etc) robotic artificial human with visual sensing etc.

In truth that's the general idea I can make a sensor board from a parallax propeller but my problem ...I cannot program :( but hopefully some one will attempt this and I can build the body or be willing to teach me some pointers
but i'm a very slow learner in that field

but yes hal roborealm a effective combintation and with a sensor and response plugin for hal (a parallax propeller) hal can use roborealm to see and respond with the sensors next from what i've heard Chat-l is a good chatter with that along with hal learning abilites well you tell me what can happen and lastly with a emotion plugin hal can have feelings (or simulate them to some extent) eMotion to help those emotions seen from humans

for example hal sees you and greets you in a happy mood after a bad day at the office and this is the tip of the iceberg and a very cost effective project at that if I can get this progect done I think Megaman can think, feel and make decisions very much like a human should this work then I would complete my siginature task

sorry I got to rambling

Hey no problem ;D

Honda is making perhaps the best progress in building a complete robotic artificial human with perception, feelings and decisions etc as you say,  in their Asimo. He can sense objects and then learn and recall their names, and learn by example  You can see it here:

I've seen asmio and it's a good robot and the ai is great but they have millions of dollars that's expected of them but if I had asmio I'd change a few of his designs

It would be cool if there were a hobbiest's human-like android/robot like you are talking about. Maybe someday!

UPDATE: I've attempted to have roboream use ultra hal but no dice
I wonder what i'm doing wrong I just keep getting an error there's not much interfacing I want to do ust have hal to "see" is more than enough for me
I think I can figure another way to have the sensors to work rather than link them to hal because hal can already "hear" or to some extent however

but on another matter does anyone know where to get eMotion software in usd I've tried but no luck any and all help is needed

UPDATE: it's been a while with me boxing and what not
after studing ultra hal and attempts to interface it I decided not to use hal
for the simple fact that the task of interfacing the all the necessary programs i'm
using would take a while but hal would be perfect for my netnavi project if only I can
get daz studio to inport my character getting back on topic I am going to have to design a
chatbot ai myself and from what I seen that seems not so tough although I need a good database
to try this from I've just about developed a behavior module to help emotion and personality traits
infact I have a method for the robot to recieve a humans face and tell how their feeling from there the robot
can decide how to resopnd

example
if a human is or appears happy mega will respond in a emotion simular or opposite to the human
from there megaman respond to it's behavior program by what it sees and hear then this of cource send
the data to it's memory the more megaman is exposed to somthing "it knows" it will stay a memory in long term mery bank
but if exposed to an item maybe once it'll "forget" and be deleted from it's memory banks that's about what I have for now
hopefully I can get some more si programing books and learn how to do more

Success lisp and roborealm can interface now
and the bahavior module are all plausable now
the hand eye cordination is working ok once the behavior program is finished then we'll have somthing but now I still gotta learn some more of lisp but believe me this project is becoming more real now
although I may change up the project name
there is much to do and I must hurry but be cautious
