Two girls for home alone guys
« on: November 07, 2007, 06:01:52 pm »
Hello everyone.

Just another little Haptek stuff I still published elsewhere (sorry, I promise it was my last and ultimate post of that kind on the forum you know). Thank you Freddy for welcoming the new migrants. I guess you've now exclusivity of htrs, skins, videos and all things related to Haptek!  8)

Don't want to polemicate because I must admit I agree with high-level programmers who prefer brains to interfaces. Our true place is on generalist AI forums (yours and vrossi's one, or K.T. site), with Graphics or Haptek sections. And not on a specific dedicated site. End of the explanation.  ;)

Well, the stuff is not a bot. Just two girls saying random phrases. For now, they only know a few sentences, it's something like a demo. And if you move your mouse, you can see strange things.

Sorry, as usual, please reload the page (refresh or F5) after loading. And rereload if you can't see the characters. The page is optimized for 1024 x 768 display, full screen. So press F11 if necessary.

If you like that and want to run it locally, I made a zip (831 KB) with a readme.txt explaining how you can write the phrases you'd like the girls to say (don't want to know!).

Personal message to my friends of the other forum (I know you're here too!): I'll continue to see, appreciate and comment your nice work, even if I waste a lot of KB on the hard drives of the site.  ;D ;D ;D

Oops, sorry, three smileys. How many KB?

Anyone is welcome to post related material here - I think the argument over on Zabaware is just a storm in a teacup.  Jack is still posting there, so i don't expect a sudden migration, but if it happens then you know you are more than welcome to show your experiments here.

I like what you did with the two models - maybe eventually Hal will be able to cope with more than one personality at a time.

It wasn't really a fight or anything I just didn't like how he was dissing the graphics on Zabaware. So I told him. Also, GamerThom has a very nice forum on his website. He is putting me in charge as moderator so please help the dream not die out for GamerThom and I. He was hoping that his forum would start to be as good as it was when it started. I hope I can do that for him. Please help me help him, he has done a lot for many of us in the past. Now is our turn to help him and his forum. Thanks.

Thanks Freddy. Maybe possible with Hal (dunno) but as you know, Mark Chavez on Clone3D (read on A.I. Nexus he'll be back soon) did it with 2 and 3 Pandorabots, in separate windows. It'd be interesting to try it in a single one. But I'm just a beginner in JavaScript and VBScript and I can't make the code linking so many things. A real reason to seriously learn that.

Alady, in France we say: "a storm in a glass of water". Because we don't drink tea! Hey! Who said "a storm in a glass of wine"?  :)

Jack, I follow you (don't worry Freddy!).

I will certainly keep visiting the CCD forum Jack so no worries there..

I think you have caught Mark Chavez up GT40...

And Alady, strangely enough when I typed 'storm in a teacup' I was half wondering if you use that saying over in the US, I think it's one of our nicer sayings.

I like the French variations too GT...here's another one we will all know:

Here: "Much Noise About Nothing" (not Shakespeare).

BTW, no avatar today because of a problem in the personal pages of my provider (no images). They're trying to repair. So, no skins and backgrounds in my Haptek stuffs!

Not very serious. The Earth continues to turn.  ;)

Hi everybody,
Sorry not been around much.
I went to hospital in early October.
Found I had diabetes.
Since then been learning how to care for it.
Mostly diet.   And got to cut all the good stuff I love.  Pies, cakes, puddings, cookies, ice cream, everything that's good.   Bum deal.   >:(
And holidays coming up.
But have adjusted somewhat,  just don't like it.   :-[

Sorry to hear that my friend. My mom was living with it for 20 some years before her fatal car wreck in 2004. She had to give herself shots 4 times daily. I know if you keep on it you will do fine. Just be very careful not to hurt your feet much, the feet take the longest to heal. Hope you continue being good my friend. ;)

I wondered what had happened to you Dusky - I'm sorry to hear it.  My brother was diagnosed diabetic last year too, but thankfully these days it doesn't interfere with life too much.  Look after yourself  :)

Any yeah, it certainly has been a bad year for a lot of people.
